I know my reputation is doomed for the moment, but I havent gone crazy yet.

All you guys who have already paid Icarus, dont worry they are safe and sound(helluva noisy toy) ready to answer trade-in call.
I appreciate the support of everyone I have done smooth transactions with. Mutual respect is all it takes.

Yeah, the winter is over.

Im holding this board for you  and refusing many proposals since day 1.
All the others here paid upfront or with minimal time delay. they are all happy.

you should have sent me the coins long time ago, but you vanished from skype, I even tried a search for you here, Its not my fault the price is like this now.

I'd gladly pay what everyone else paid, which was (I think?) $230 in BTC, but using the current exchange rate. Via PM I made you an offer that I feel is more than fair and more than you'll get from anyone else for the icarus. Like I said, since you were going to keep the board and continue mining with it until it was time to ship, I never intended to pay for the board until it was time to ship it. I thought I made this clear in our previous communications, and I'm sorry if it wasn't clear to you.

I never mentioned dollars in this thread, I have 10 coins right now if I wanted to sell to another person, same ammount Im asking you to pay

Did business with rudrigorc2, can vouch for him being reliable and fair.

BTW I would of course be willing to buy the Icarus from you for a fair price.

I offered him a fair price. He wants me to pay ~$1000 for the icarus. I'd love to buy it for a fair price.

Hey, since it looks like batch 2 will be shipping soon hopefully, I just wanted to make sure you're still willing to ship an icarus to Avalon like we agreed when batch 2 went on sale. Let me know, thanks.

Steve

Hi, I'm interested in one of the Icarus units you're selling. I don't have any previous trades here, but I've been a member of the forums for a long time. I'd be glad to use escrow of however you'd like to do the trade. Thanks.

scrow is fine, yes, I would rather have the btcs upfront, at least for the shipping costs.

If u like we can talk on skype: digoq3

nave are you voidandnullidentity? Can you log in to skype? If yes, Im glad you contacted me cause I have forgotten your username here.

Yes, that's me. I'm not home right now and can't skype, but I just wanted to check in with you. I haven't sent payment for the icarus yet, I just wanted to see how you wanted to proceed.

All right. bear in mind the exchange rate for that icarus will be the same you paid for avalon.
Why is that?

well, this is kinda obvious no?
you paid your avalon at that price, why would u get this awesome deal paying only a few coins for icarus after all this rise?  of course the tradein shipment advange is gone for everyone at this point.

That doesn't make sense. You pay for what something is worth. You want me to pay close to $1000 for the icarus?

Dude, at that time you were going to pay 230 and get 299 discount. You were going to commit a fixed ammount of coins THAT day, its not my fault the price went up. Its so convenient you appear to me after all these days with this idea in mind.

I never said I was going to pay months in advance of shipping. If bitcoins were $1 now I'd be ready to send you 230 of them. I'm willing to pay fair market price plus your troubles of shipping it to Avalon for me, but I'm not paying in BTC prices from a month and a half ago. If you don't want to sell it to me that's fine, and I'm sorry for the confusion of my intent here.

Several people asked me if I still had FPGAs. Im holding this for you and now you dont want to commit your coins to the obvius. Its your choice but then think twice before ask anyone anything if you ever need.

I'm ready to commit the fair market price. You want me to pay more than 3 times what the device is worth. That is not fair.

what is fair when the avalon you got now is worth 60x100USD ?

The Avalon was 60 BTC @ $20.00. It's price was $1200. If it sold today it would be a lot less than 60 BTC because the exchange rate is higher. The icarus is worth $300. That's 3.42 BTC at the MTGox weighted price as of this message. That's what I'd consider a fair market price.

you are completely mistaken over this matter. LOT LESS? you must be kidding.

im posting this at thread, then you decide if you would like to pay or not. I could use a Icarus myself.

I'm also interested, as I mentioned in PM in February.

I hope I'll get a chance to buy if the current prospective purchaser does not buy.

Heh nice picture Smiley
I like the way I (and ckolivas) managed to get the Icarus to sit so close to their hash rate of 380Mh/s Smiley
Your share acceptance rate (for almost 24hours runtime) is an average of 379.92MH/s per device ... nice indeed.

I guess we all have to thank you guys for this great piece of software.

Atention: there is one user here that has commited to buy one Icarus, but I cant reach you.
please contact me in skype ASAP!  Thanks.

I know from the BFL policy that you do not need to be the original owner, I assume that avalon are planning the same.

I'm interested by one or two boards.

I'm not sure I understand though: do you only propose to send them back to Avalon when the trade-in is available or is it possible to get them myself right now?

Trade-Ins - Avalon will continue to honor our old customers providing trade-in programs of old generations units, FPGA, and in the future for first generation ASIC modules.

This strongly suggests that the trade-in credit is available only to people who are already Avalon customers.

Do not assume that you can buy someone else's FPGA and trade it in. ASK Avalon.

I know from the BFL policy that you do not need to be the original owner, I assume that avalon are planning the same.

The trade-in is designed to alleviate fears that your new purchase will become obsolete overnight.
If they hung their FPGA owners up to dry then people would be skeptical about ordering ASICs beyond the first few months for fear of a second generation blowing them out of the water soon after.

You can trade in towards an upgrade or you can sell it on the second hand market where the price *should* be near to the trade in value.

I am old costumer. But I cant afford tradein all my boards -- I am buying some AVALON myself while providing new costumers to them. (only a few)
People who otherwise wouldnt buy for 1500 have a chance to get for 1200 and be a client for future upgrades. All is profit to Avalon Asic.

Sounds reasonable to me.

Only way I'd even consider doing something remotely like this is thru escrow.
Once product is in my hands I'll release escrow.

Yeahh sounds reasonably.
Choice is yours dude. But it may turn out that when you as a buyer pay shipping the discount is gone. And it does not worth the effort at all
