woo
found my first block solo mining with LTC:) i was pool mining before, on litecoinpool.. ard ~50khash total, just pointed all miners to a litecoind on a vps, and i already earned 50ltc:) less than a day by the way...

3 bigger cpu's - ~20-22kh/s Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU    Q6600  @ 2.40GHz, ~16-18kh/s AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 605e Processor, ~10-12kh/s Core2Duo 2.26ghz and the others are small, like 2,5kh/s is the max, making the total become around 50-55

By the way, found around 5 blocks on litecoinpool, but only earned ~160 total in shares, so I guess solo would be better for me as I calculated (5 blocks = 250ltc + 1 block in solo = 300ltc > ~160ltc +20ltc for the day i didn't mine for the pool = 180ltc)

i'll keep updated with my experiences:)

It does conflict. For Bitcoin:

    run_p2pool User Pass --worker-port 9335 --p2pool-port 9336

Have your miner mine with IP 9335

    Litecoin:

    Just run with --net litecoin
changing the bitcoin port fixes the issue
    make sure your rpcport=9332

You are a genius. Thank you.

Glad you got it working! I got the info from the guys @ BTC-E as I had the same problem Smiley

So i have given over 24 hours to Pool-x.eu
and I am very pleased with the results.

26876 shares
13.496 LTC

average of

.000502158 / share

guess I'm not going back to PPS Cheesy

P2Pool im gonna have to try next Smiley

See it works well! haha. I'm trying to sort out p2p pool but I think I like the predictability of pool-x.

i know how you feel thatonegirlt, i had the exact same problem when i started solo mining litecoins.  the only way you know if the GUI is mining is in the lower right hand corner if you mouseover the pick it will give you a khs rate.  its really slow compared to other miners, especially poolers optimized miner that was mentioned in a previous thread.  its a very impressive piece of code.  I switched over to pooling after difficulty went up but it is very satisfying to find a block, with me it would take 5-6 days of constant mining although i got lucky a few times (once i got one in like 4 hours!)  another thing to watch for is that everytime you load up the litecoin it starts mining by default which will slow everything down if you are also running another miner.  welcome to litecoins and good luck!

no problem  Grin

LTC p2pool pays out well, just be patient to start with!

Yeah, I'm testing out BTC p2pool and apparently it conflicts with litecoin's default port. Will the p2pool have the same problem, do you know?

I'm sure that you'll make much more at Litecoin P2Pool!!  Wink

I would give it a try except I have no idea what pool you're talking about haha. Is it just called litecoin p2pool? Goog-ling it doesn't get me very far.

just remember in all this diff is currently upgoing aswell Smiley take that into account when you doing your acgs and pools like pool-x vary due to luck as seen on http://pool-x.eu/blocksAuth

about solo mining in long run it shuld all even out until you get to point where you wont make few blocks solo before the diff changes then its getting hard solo mining

so go for what you feel id say Smiley

is the reason for more LTC/day on P2Pool the gifts from random miners ? or will I actually see a larger average per share (over time since its PPLNS) ?

I pointed all my miners to Pool-X.eu , Ill give it a little while before trying to pull a average from there.

I think I have tried all pools now except for P2Pool

I started off on the pps website you're talking about but I ended up making more on average at pool-x.eu. I'm averaging about 18khs and on litecoinpool I made about 13~14ltc a day and on pool-x I make about 20 per day.

I have such slow hash rates that pools are my only option.

I've tried lots of pools but I keep going back to litecoinpool.org for pps ... seems i can never get enough shares to makes over 0.00048442 (current rate) per share.

I am only getting 12-14KHs

with

Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual  CPU  E2180  @ 2.00GHz - 5.7 KHs
Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual  CPU  T6400  @ 2.00GHz - 6.0 KHs
AMD C-50 Dual @ 1.00GHz - 1.36 KHs
AMD Athlon @ 700MHz - 0.4 KHs

average of 6 days for 50 ltc solo

4 days in random pools so far - 37.78 ltc

I probably should stay in a PPLNS pool for days to see if my shares go over the .00048442 PPS rate at litecoinpool.org, but I have only been mining LTC on and off for 4 days Tongue

Used to be at least 50; now it's more like 40 (probably because of Ozcoin's now-gone 10 LTC bonus per block.) But with every CPU I use for it, I get a minimum hashrate of 50KH/s, and a max of about 56.
Still, there are miners with 100+ KH/s in the pool I use, so I think that solo is a bad option for a lot of us.
What kind of CPUs are you using? The highest hashrate listed on the hardware comparison is the PS3 with 34. https://github.com/coblee/litecoin/wiki/Mining-hardware-comparison

Is that WiKi correct.  I'm getting 7KHash/s on a Pentium D 3GHz and it says at Core2Quad Q6600 only gets 5KHash/s.

Most of those benchmarks are relative to the original scrypt cpuminer by ArtForz. The current version of cpuminer is significantly faster, but not many people know about the wiki, and as a result the information on that page is now a little outdated.
