Shit happens once in a while, but how you handle it is what matters in the end.
This is for me the most important aspect of new crypto projects. Shit happens all the time and project's reaction to those situations tells me much about the project itself.

I am glad this has been handled in satisfactory way but 5 days is a little bit on the long side to wait if your money is on the line. But since this is small scale operation I guess it falls whell inside some imaginary limits. Withdrew my flag and opposed it.

I'll use this post as Reference for new neutral feedback.

SOLVED!
I confirm artsidim received his funds, and with that, this case is solved. This took 5 days.

Reasons for the delay
I had to be away from PC since last weekend. This is a one man operation to keep the highest privacy possible. ~snip~
As for the transaction, it was not processed properly. ~snip~

Solution for the scam accusation
@Artsidim has got in touch and I have sent him the BTC along with a bonus for such a long wait. @LoyceV please verify this with the Letter of Guarantee.
I confirm the destination address has been funded with a larger amount than it should have received.

Case closed!

@LeGaulois, @bullrun2020bro, @Coolcryptovator, @TalkStar, @logfiles, @Csmiami, @darktor: Please remove the negative feedback you left MyCryptoMixer based on my topic.

Privacy
@artsidim: After sending your Letter of Guarantee to me by PM, you should consider your privacy compromised. If you want to break any link between funds, you should mix it again:
Cloudflare is very probably an NSA honeypot

Thanks
@MyCryptoMixer: Thank you very much for doing the right thing! Credit where credit is due Smiley Shit happens once in a while, but how you handle it is what matters in the end.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)
Flag support has been withdrawn and opposed. I didnt comment here yesterday after supporting the flag because I was expecting a positive response from the mixer and so was watching the thread.

Good thing is that they have promised to put in more safeguards, which I hope will prevent such incidents from happening in future.

Once again it is good to see a "Solved" tag before the thread in this section. Cool

Hello,

@Artsidim has got in touch and I have sent him the BTC along with a bonus for such a long wait. @LoyceV please verify this with the Letter of Guarantee.

Great to see that they are back but that's not a good approach at all. Privacy seeking user now have to contact with the admin to get their fund back. And there are other people too who have lost their fund while they aren't available here.

@RapTarX, when saying "that is not a good approach at all", do you mean to say the money should not be returned to the owner? If you are referring to the requirement of sending us a LoG, we do not store logs of the transactions going through our platform. This directly means we have no other way to determine where the funds should be transferred to.

When referring to "other people", I am sure you mean the 2 other transactions which were caught in the incident. They can send us PGP encrypted message to an email, as everyone encountering any issues should. No need for contacting us via the forum.

I am well aware not having the incident would be much better, but it is too late to revert it now. MyCryptoMixer was created with multiple fail safes in mind, but the main goal was never to compromise on privacy. If the outage happens, it can only recover up to 24 hours by design. This is why our users are protected by PGP signed letter. In case of a failure, they can always hold the service accountable, just like artsidim done.

More safeguards have been put in place to prevent any mishaps in the future.

Please send me the LoG so I know where to send the funds.
That's not mine to give, but you should have an email from artsidim already:
I will gladly provide it to support service but these guys do not reply to emails.

Sometimes things outside your control just happen and there is nothing you can do.
That is the best possible outcome indeed, but I hope you understand a warning was/is in place too.

Hey LoyceV!
Artsidim indeed sent us an email on the 17.11 but he did not include his Letter of Guarantee there, only the Order ID which expired by now. Waiting for him here!

After a longer analysis I have identified 2 other transactions like this, all being much smaller amounts.

I am really sorry for the arising situation, considering the hundreds of transactions processed without any troubles and a few dozen automatically restored after the failure, a result of only 3 stray transactions is very positive. Lesson have been learned and hopefully in the future no transaction will be lost in unexpected scenario as the one here.

Currently waiting for contact with LoG's in order to refund these orders.

Hello,

Sorry for the long delay but I had to be away from PC since last weekend. This is a one man operation to keep the highest privacy possible. Sometimes things outside your control just happen and there is nothing you can do.

As for the transaction, it was not processed properly. The reason being a memory leak preventing our system from registering new transactions.

The system have successfully restored itself after 28 hours and all transactions have been processed retroactively. We delete transaction info after 24 hours, meaning the transactions confirmed within 4 hours window after the incident were lost. Automatic system checks have been modified to avoid such losses in the feature.

I am currently browsing through the contacts for any reports, dispatching the funds manually. Please send me the LoG so I know where to send the funds. If you wish for the funds to be send to a different address than the ones specified in the LoG, please attach a message with new destination address. The message must be BTC encrypted with the sender address or one of destinations specified in the LoG.

I got a reply from MyCryptoMixer just now, and if this was an exit scam I don't believe they'd ever contact me again
I have to disagree here: I've seen delaying tactics before, and if it is indeed an exit scam, they have a very good reason to try to trick a few more people.

I'm hopeful that this can be resolved!
Me too Smiley

Here's the basic explanation I got, and I tend to believe it:

"There was an error that made the system lose a lot of transactions. Working on a fix now and will start responding to emails / posts."
Any word on why they took so long to respond? Especially when there's "an error", they should be right on top of it.

Let's try and keep it civil
I forgot to self-moderate this topic, but so far it's pretty civil Smiley

As for supporting the Flag: there's no rush! Once it was active, I removed the request to support it from the title. In similar cases that did get resolved it sometimes took a long time to withdraw all negative feedback and Flag Support.
I'm keeping an eye on the destination address, once it gets funded I'll post here.

Meh.
I got a reply from MyCryptoMixer just now, and if this was an exit scam I don't believe they'd ever contact me again let alone login to their bitcointalk account, so I'm hopeful that this can be resolved!

is there an update from artsidim regarding the issue?

I am really looking forward to when MyCryptoMixer will get in touch and somehow comment on this situation and also return everything in full. If this does not happen, then I hope that other users will pay attention to this situation and will not trust them. I do not want to call MyCryptoMixer scammers because I still think that there was some technical error and MyCryptoMixer will fix this situation.
It's an interesting case but why did you use this new and not yet reputed service to mix such a big amount? I don"t understand.
they've been around for more than half a year and is still building a reputation and as far as I know, in those months I haven't seen a complaint from users(at least here in the forum). and as you can see artsidim trusted it enough to mix that much money.

And btw why are you only newbie here?
I don't see why his account being a newbie is an issue?

Why dude? Waiting for their words to be confirm mean you are giving them more time. Imagine, this is an exit scam but without hearing from them LoyceV didn't create this flag, what would happen? More people would be scammed.

It's good that he created Flag and other members supported the flag before, there is still ongoing campaign in forum with Hhampuz and he said he will contact them directly.
I am not defending anyone but I have the right to wait before I support any flag.

No one is talking about your right here. Obviously its your own decision to support the flag now or later but RapTarx is telling you about the possibility of scam if we wait for their explanation and response here.

If you support the flag now and they resolve this matter then you can delete your opinion later but if you don't do it then more people can use this mixing service by seeing a fresh profile. Hope you got my point.

I don't know if artsidim contacted their support or write them email, but I can see that MyCryptoMixer profile they use was not online in forum for last six days.
That's the only hope for OP. Hopefully they will come bacj and resolve the issue.
