You guys never read the Getting started pages or the ann threads, huh ?

You can set your own diff on suprnova through the password field.. Just use d=500 for example as password (no matter what your real worker password is) and you have a static diff of 500 for your rig

I do read them but still missed that, only saw that d=8192 thing. You need to use colors and bigger fonts  Grin

pointless accusing thread.
u can set static diff..that said this thread aims something else.

Hardly pointless as I was having an issue and seeking advice as well as wondering if others were experiencing this.

OP is using nicehash port for some reason.

edit: change your port to 2142, 2143 is high difficulty port for nicehash miners.

Huh strange, it worked all this time without fault. As you suggested I changed the port to 2142 and it's working much better now. Diff currently is 1088H.

Many thanks for your help!  Smiley

EDIT: now there's another strange problem - before I was getting about 190H/s with Claymore v8. Now I've changed ports and the difficulty is lower, I'm only seeing a hashrate of 160 H/s  Huh

See here is the problem. When you set diff too low your card has to work harder having to reset job after share submittal thus causing a loss in hr because of the time it takes to submit a share  You will always gain a little hr by setting a high diff share but it has a limit. You need to be able to submit at least one share per 2.5 min with bad luck.  So I'd say you need to be able to submit one share every 20 seconds. So I'd have my diff set at max 20x my hashrate so that in the case of 10x luck share it at least has a chance unlike the 140x vardiff port. Most likely you will see a block change before you submit a share.. 140x leaves no room for bad luck causes more rejects and the weight of those rejects are much heavier.   If the network diff wasn't rising like mad it wouldn't matter since variance would all even out. But that's not the case

A truly good pool will allow us to set our own diff.  Anyone know of a pool that allows me to set my own diff?  That would be ideal situation

Maybe dwarfpool implement this. I will test them for a few days. Pps when diff is skyrocketing only makes sense anyway

Precisely described Sir, +1 for you

Its good to understand it from someone who knows what they are talking about and who knows how to describe the issue so that people like me with lesser understanding of issue can actually understand the things that are happening in the background.
Thank you so much

You need to try some pool that has static difficulty ports and see if that helps.

There are reports share difficulty affecting power consumption and hashrate, cannot confirm though.

Check your logs. See what the diff was a few days ago and compare to current diff.  And thank you for creating new thread for this. Seems many in claymore thread don't understand this.  Much appreciated

Yeah I didn't want to clutter things up, plus I wasn't sure if it could be a problem with the pool so I thought a new thread would be best.

So, I looked at the difficulties for the last few days and I spotted the problem..

A few days ago ..
diff:   4352H
then suddenly it jumped from 4352 to:

diff: 139264H
and it hasn't come down since.

Seriously what gives?!

So how much hash rate do you have?

If you have multiple rigs say 1000 H/s a rig and you give them the same worker name it might help.

As it would see 2000 h vs 1000 h. So if the diff is always 139264. 2000h vs 1000h  would be twice the speed for your shares and they would come every 2.5 minutes vs every 5

See for pool mining that's no good. If you mine solo ok cuz you only want high diff share.  They are essentially stealing hashrate by setting such high diff.    that's why I ask claymore to create solo miner.  The pools are fucking us. Big time!!   If they don't have the server capacity to run a pool they shouldnt be doing it. Bottom line.  The pools are way to centralized and have too many rigs pointed at them.  Can't handle the network load is my best guess

BR

Yeah the pools are really making hay on ZEC since solo mining is so hard due to the fact that you have to install linux and run your own node to solo mine doable but a pain.

Not sure how you expect claymore to make a solo miner for you.  If you want to solo mine install the ZEC node software on a linux box and point all your claymore 8 rigs to it.

luckpool.org ....

um no isnt that the pool run by that guy who stole a bunch of coins from miners on ZEC launch day, the fker stil owes me nearly 1 ZEC which was worth like 2-3 btc back then

was there ONE pool that didnt fake problems and steal the first few blocks? Smiley

Alot did but his was the worst since alot of folks like me NEVER got thier payouts , other pools payed out way less and way late

ahh, now that IS shifty.. ya i mined at supernova, i got the "tx's are sent" but "returned" 8 hours later and resent (heh, heh)

I'd rather insyall my own node and solo mine than pay somone who already ripped me off 1% lol , but idk if i had a larger hash rate i would try it possibly

Your best bet is to ask in the Suprnova thread, the 200K diff is way too high. Seems like a bug.
