MtGox? Well, they felt guilty and to make amends they gave free Bitcoin to random people. Or someone just mistakenly sent a Bitcoin to a wrong address??

It is Mark turning Bitcoin Robinhood and spreading the stolen coins as a gesture of good faith. ^joke^ I hope some day, someone will do this and send money to all the bitcoin addresses that was involved in the MtGox and other scams. I just hope these coins will not be funded from other stolen coins.

Then again, these addresses have not been used for years and most of the people who got burned by that experience, turned away from Bitcoin or turned shill. ^hmmmm^

I mined in the past with F2Pool so it might be related to them.

Are they still in operation?  Perhaps they were paying out all old accounts with what ever dust had settled before they closed operations?

For those whose browsers are crashing, you can view a truncated version here: https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/address/1GX28yLjVWux7ws4UQ9FB4MnLH4UKTPK2z/
The latest TX has 5575 outputs. another one is over 11k. No wonder blockchain.info is laggy.

My browser is chewing up 100% of my CPU right now. There may or may not be a risk of this transaction being used maliciously (e.g. Look at this blockchain.info address:)

Anyways, I have strong reason to believe that that is F2pool's address (mining or otherwise). One does not simply send 700+ BTC to that address. Refer to this TX: https://blockchain.info/tx/e9dd9bf87f66a08938c8ec3e70d618246637f128e2c50d94a875bbadd70ad809

Very interesting,  has happened in the past too. We may never know who,  what or why.

Well, it looks like bitcoin's doing its job, being a semi-anonymous asset! You won't be able to find anything out unless it's owner links themself/themselves to the address.

I had a strange deposit today. I googled this wallet and apparently it belongs to MtGox. And today it looks like it sent half a million dollars to a bunch of people. He sent me a penny.

You are lucky! I went into my wallet and found nothing there, and I really need the money right now. People say that the purse belongs to MtGoxAndOthers. I have no idea what it is.

I had a quick check in my wallets after seeing this but no one sent me any bitocoin to any of them Sad Seems your just lucky. Sounds like someone has deposited it into your account so they can track it though. Im not so sure whats so significant about your wallet though unless it was some sort of user error.

You're lucky, I'm quite suprised how a huge transaction like this is confirmed with 0BTC fee, the transaction size is 386,206 bytes which is ~40% of a total block size. My browser was frozen few times until loaded the latest transaction.

Wanted to look up the wallet on Blockchain.info, but the transactions are huge. It almost crashed my browser.

No pennies or dust to my wallet.  I have no relationship w/ Mt. Gox nor Chinese miners.

I wonder who's behind it?

Yup, my computer froze up too.  Google Chrome.  Looked it up at blockchain.info as well.

The most recent transaction https://blockchain.info/tx/8a6c868d32cdc9a4b3f561034939dd4662411eb50ad158e16b1afd725e67b40d seems to be the latest in a series that have been daily for a while now.

They all seem to be coming from https://blockchain.info/address/1KFHE7w8BhaENAswwryaoccDb6qcT6DbYY which is mining coins and receiving coins from other sources.

Lol, buy some DOGE with it.  It's the best thing that could possibly come out of a Mt. Gox settlement.  That name still makes my f-ing skin crawl, kinda like Cryptsy.
