how did that get processed?

the 666 bytes also concernes me Cheesy

Woah! If you trace back the inputs a few steps - it looks like the coinbase is a really similar to one of Satoshi Nakamoto's early mined blocks! Spooky!

You can compare it here: http://goo.gl/zPOD vs. https://blockchain.info/tx-index/113953084

I have to say I like that address. Still don't see how anyone could have a private key to that unless they got it by chance, which I doubt.

Saw a funny thing scrolling by in the logs just now:

http://pignax.com/pub/mtgox2.png
Look at all the transactions

https://blockchain.info/tree/113953084

If you expand everything, you see that the end result is three transactions of 80 BTC sent to 1EcvHzJaXp9xnBcxqWe6rR8sUyzujzfafn,
with a tiny bit(transaction fee for something like a mixing service?) going to 1Nqoy2FfpR1DtrBodFe1bzRrzuoA9XYkab.

I wonder why he went all the way just to show his hate to Mt. Gox

so essentially the btc sent to those addresses are "destroyed" ?

Essentially yes, for all intents and purposes, it's improbable that anyone is in possession of the private keys to redeem the small amount of coin sent to those addresses. It's also highly improbable that anyone will ever generate (accidentally, or otherwise) those private keys at any stage in the future.

Also on more technical note, transactions like this gradually add to the amount of overall memory required to run a full Bitcoin node. Further reading, search "UTXO".

Some of those vanity address are freaking long, it's scary !

I highly doubt they are vanity addresses that someone actually holds the private key.

More likely is that they are made up addresses, the person that crafted them made sure that the last few characters (checksum) makes the address appear valid to the network.
