I'm pretty sure he's insulated from the severity of his crimes when he's across the Pacific.
I would like to see him once he lands in the States and is put in a penitentiary.

It is odd. Many people were left in complete disbelief at his behaviour (if not the final outcome).
It is possible he has had some kind of breakdown, I mean people have lost millions and he's talking about his cat sat on his keyboard and how he drinks too much coke.
The other possibility is that the cold wallet or MtGox was somehow threatened and this is all an elaborate ploy to hide the funds from whomever (the US? the Japanese authorities? Coinlab lawsuit?). Pretty slim chance on that one.

Sounds about right but since he is an easily recognizable character and the bitcoin community is so widespread and resourceful, he will always be found.
