Josh promises 100 days and they will ship out all pre-orders. Somehow, I am skeptical. I see a 100+ day delay and then they begin shipping...

The beauty of the 100-day plan is that it gives BFL 100 days before they wheel out the "ships in two weeks" line.

For someone asking about their new orders, they are well down from the heady days of late March and April but staggeringly they are still generating about 330 order numbers a day (probably equates to about 130 actual paid orders a day).

That is just effing crazy...a fool and his money are soon parted indeed....

It would actually be funny if it wasn't so sad.

[Speculation and thoughts]

Grabs the magician by the arm and shakes his cuff...oh look at that, a contract fell out that shows you already placed a new batch order for new wafers before you even started selling the new bulk orders....huh.

So this means the wait is less than 90 days right?

=================

It makes me wonder if this is a bait and switch operation? I will give you the old chips, as long as you pay for my new ones.

(Is an implied pre-order delay in the cards? Or will they ship out a small low volume stream of pre-orders until they get the new chips to keep customers satisfied?)

How do you certify that you actually got the new batch and not an old one? How does one figure this out? (Besides the power numbers?)

Josh makes the next promise....

We promise we won't use the new chips for pre-orders. (And conversely, we won't use the old chips for bulk orders) Right....

How much do you want to bet (rhetorical) that they will dump on BFL customers the current high power consumption batch they have...and use the newly ordered batches for pre-orders?

Josh promises 100 days and they will ship out all pre-orders. Somehow, I am skeptical. I see a 100+ day delay and then they begin shipping...

I'd bet the BFL chips you get will be consuming more power than future pre-orders...and it will all be by some kind of "magic" solution they found to their enigmatic problem.

It's all speculation though...don't take anything I say too seriously...

My guess is that pre-orders are declining and they desperately try to source money. Otherwise it is insane to expose closed source design. I wonder if all those wafers have even been paid for. From what I read in the forum they have only 50000 chips at hand.

Some bitter people in this forum.

BFL got their long boards in and are going to be working around the clock 24-7 to ship everything out now.  Josh says that everything that has been preordered up to now will ship before 100 days, when the first set of chips would be released.

Considering they are shipping Jalapeno's, the chips themselves are fine.  I tend to believe his timeline of 100 days because that process is largely outside of BFL's hands anyway so there is little for them to screw up.

It all comes down to whether you believe BFL and Josh (I do) or you don't, like most people posting in this thread (Who will undoubtedly point out for the ten thousandth time their reasoning.)

They have over ten grand of my money, and I'm completely confident in eventually receiving what I paid for.  That said, I won't be buying chips because I do not have the expertise to build them into viable miners.  I would rather purchase a finished solution.
sup noob.

you're not here long enough.

they're gonna be working 24/7 to ship everything out?
hmm, sounds familiar.....i think they said that before christmas last year too.

over 10 grand of your money, and you're completely confident? even 1-2 years after?
reminds me of the saying...a fool and his money, somethingsomething....

I am so sick of the word "pre-order". I've taken it upon myself to start keeping inventory of as many ASICs as I can get my hands on and only selling it if I can ship it the SAME DAY. Currently stocking the only ASICs I can buy, Block Erupter USBs (see my sig), but as my BFL/Avalon orders are fulfilled, I will move those into inventory for same day shipping. I want to make ASIC preorders a thing of the past.

Give this guy a clue. (A quarter)

You just never learn.

You really never did learn this years lesson?

It all comes down to whether you believe BFL and Josh (I do) or you don't, like most people posting in this thread (Who will undoubtedly point out for the ten thousandth time their reasoning.)
OMG.

Even the (fluffy puppy and lovable) Moderator has his immense doubts....

I think at this point you should order even more from BFL. Sell everything. Don't listen to the general consensus (which has reached a staggering critical mass 10x over).

No, don't listen to us "fools". Spend everything you have and show us how you became rich by trusting Josh's claims! Do it, you know you must....

How may Jalapenos have they managed to ship in the 2 months since they started shipping?

3. At Bitcoin Conference BFL's name was not placed anywhere on the program information nor were they included in the seminar material (AVALON was).

Seriously?

Damn, thats like being erased...

Edit: If this were the case as you claim, perhaps it is because BFL brings bad Mojo or Shame to the red carpet that is any BitCoin Company? Guilt by association?

Yes even on the map overview of the booths...the booth BFL was at was labeled "BITPAY".

LOL

Yifu gave a talk so AVALON did get mentioned in the conference material. Yifu was like a celebrity. Josh...nope...
boothjacking.

i guess they ran out of $$$ to pay for the booth.

It's as if they asked themselves "What could we possibly do what would make us look even WORSE right now?"

ROFL! I gotta admit, they have balls of steel. They must be counting on the bulk of their pre-order customers converting to chip orders. BFL has gotta know by now they won't be shipping a working product... at least not one that resembles the initial specs.
