Very interesting Ill play around with it and some of my developers and see if I can port it and get it to mine on a sophon

ok, that code works; but is unclear as to what its doing/if it is actually doing anything.
will post back with results later

James, AFAIk, that's the code from the B3 Asic from bitmain which runs using the tensor chips, same chips used in sophon. I'm assuming, at a minimum you can run the same software on the sophon and mine using the sc1 gpus x2 inside. It looks like the b3 makes around 25 bytom a day and i think has 12 chips? so maybe the sophon makes 8 a day with 4? Question is if you can get it to run on the SS1 and have the GPUs work.  Meanwhile I'm still fiddling with facial recognition but dunno wtf i'm doing :/ Would love to monetize this beast besides cpu mining which is not finding blocks still. Best and please update us with any results you have.

@mindtrip and @ gribbliest

So, i don't know if you guys have sophons, but it looks like bytom and the b3 are using the same chips in the sophon GPU cards.

I found what I think is a copy of the b3 firmware that could be ported to run with the sophon cards and their driver.

This is all a bit above me though, wondering if you guys have any thoughts on utilizing the sophon to mine bytom

Any pointers on what mining software these will work with I am happy to test and post my results

Have you had any luck or done anything interesting with yours? Wondering as there seems to be no discussion of it anywhere.

@mindtrip - do you have the SDK/Toolkit available?

I am unable to download it from Bitmain right now.

I watched a Bits Be Trippin' vlog on YouTube a week ago, or so, and he was mining on an AI card - in place of a graphics card - and was getting 90+ MH/s on ETH. Maybe these are for the GPU market?

people who are a bit more silent on this are achieving a factor of at least 3 or 4 on that figure; but dead right, very suitable for mining..

I have a significant QTY of Sophon SC1 TPUs in deployment for our research customers.
It’s worth noting that the device presents itself to the OS as a Xilinx memory controller with 16GB DDR4.
Bitmain has detailed FP16/32 INT functions available to the Metal API with a theoretical max throughout of 2TFLOPS.

If anyone is interested in getting schedule SSH access to a host with an SC-1, please feel free to PM me.

I received my sophon today now time to tinker and see what it can do

I'd be very interested in your experience with the Sophon card(s). I'm waiting for the server solution to be delieverd soon, so I will also know more once that happens.

The S3 can run AI as fast as the Titan , so in the near future we'll have quantum computer that's 100 times more efficient as guessing the block

Bitmain’s newest product, the Sophon, may or may not take over deep learning.

"The Sophon unit will include Bitmain’s first piece of bespoke silicon for a revolutionary AI technology. If things go to plan, thousands of Bitmain Sophon units soon could be training neural networks in vast data centers around the world.

Bitmain is committed to providing the most cost effective and least power consuming AI computing power based on its strong ASIC design experience, agility, and complete system design capability.

The Sophon SS1 server solution , is a complete integrated system with many AI algorithms. Customers can simply plug it in and launch the video analytics demo; furthermore, the applications can be easily integrated into large video analytics systems by calling algorithm APIs. Customers may also choose the Sophon SC1 accelerator card based on the Sophon BM1680 tensor processing unit.
Sophon SS1, a specific server system for intelligent video and image analytics, is powered by BM1680 and SC1, aiming to provide a holistic solution for multiple AI application scenarios.

Based on Sophon BM1680, Bitmain provides Sophon SC1 and SC1+ cards. The SC1 card has one high performance BM1680 chip and the SC1+ card has dual BM1680 chips which are connected through the high speed SerDes Chiplink, introducing a new level of acceleration for deep-learning."
