My grandfather died in soviet gulag camp. I hate communism and soviet system!

He was who? Put pleas more info.

I think the exact names aren't so important to provide. It is a fact that many people died in Gulag: "Mortality in Gulag camps in 1934–40 was 4–6 times higher than average in Russia. The estimated total number of those who died in imprisonment in 1930–53 is at least 1.76 million". Read this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulag

Yeah we always learn (in Europe at least) how the third Reich was the worst thing ever, but even if 3rd Reich was horrible it killed and destroyed less than USSR or Mao.

Put here the number of dead chinese people under Japan occupation.

Put here the pictures of Warsaw at 1945.

GULAG in USA picture for dummies.

My grandfather died in soviet gulag camp. I hate communism and soviet system!

Some 60 million people (the vast majority of them ethnic Russians, Belorussians, and Ukrainians) perished during Stalin's reign. Some of them were exterminated in purges, some perished during the warfare, and the rest lost their lives in famines and epidemics. There is hardly anyone in the former USSR, who has not been affected by Stalin's crimes.

Even if, to be honest, it last much much much less xD

But I don't think it's a reason to hate communism though. Communism has been tried four times in the whole history and gave a good result (Cuba) whereas capitalism has been tried and used for thousands of years and still doesn't work! Maybe we should try communism/socialism again.

What is the difference between Soviet Union Gulags and American Guantanamo Bay?
Most people today, including both Russians and Americans, could not imagine what the Stalin regime was actually like. However, today there actually is a country that is exactly like what the Soviet Union was in the 1940s and 1950s, That country is North Korea. In fact, Kim Il Sung, the founding father of North Korea and Kim Jong Un's grandfather, learned everything he knew about communism and totalitarian rule from Stalin, his idol. Do you think North Korea is a country worth celebrating?

That's not so easy to do, mate. In fact the majoriry of people in the Soviet Gulags were not from the rich but from the poor. The whole economy of the Soviet Union were dependent on the hard work of people who were kept in Gulags, who received no payment for their work, only small amount of bad food.

What is the difference between Soviet Union Gulags and American Guantanamo Bay?

The gulag prisoners were forced to work on various major infrastructural projects such as the construction of railway tracks, mines, and irrigation canals, which eventually benefited millions of people. The Guantanamo Bay inmates are being held at the expense of the American tax payers, with just the private prison industries benefiting out of it.

This is only because the prison American system is the worst in the world. That's something completely crazy that is not only a nonsense but also an insult to the American AND the prisoners, both of them.

Does anyone know where there is a complete version in English? This seems to be a heavily suppressed book.

Seems like there is not, that's what Vika says. And she seems rather aware of that.

Doesn't surprise me though. All the Eastern philosophy and thinking is considered as dangerous in the west so is heavily censored or just carefully forgoten...

What is the difference between Soviet Union Gulags and American Guantanamo Bay?

The difference is in the US they hand out cool orange jumpsuits with a trendy hat that covers your entire head. They also have recreational activities like waterboarding.

The Gulags were merely a form of social "grooming" and very educational for those hosted at the facilities!
