That price is just too high. In my mind it is not possible for bitcoin to reach that price but bitcoin has proven me wrong for some of my assumptions in the past. This could prove me wrong too but only time can tell. But before we dwell with the price in the distant future, let's face first the problems that bitcoin have that can stop bitcoin to reach that potential price.

a market cap three times higher than gold?

yes, i think that's ridiculous but possible. to most people it's more useful than gold as it has so many more properties that fit their lives.

and we're talking market cap here so it could reach one million per coin in a week if everyone stopped selling on a volume of a few million dollars.

For now it's just taken hostage by a small minority of people who try to stall progress as long as possible.. Gladly this will change with august the first. It will be ugly but it is necessary and in the long run Bitcoin will continue to thrive.

In terms of the $1million. Man let's talk about that in 20+ years again or so. Sure anything is possible, but not in short terms.
That is the million dollar question here, will the expected change from August make or break bitcoin, since you think that it will be ugly, what could be the short term consequences, will there be panic among investors and what can be expect during that time, there is a lot of uncertainty regarding forking and it all depends on how smooth the things move in the bitcoin space.

bitcoin will never be worth a million dollars because the dollar will always remain legal tender and be available for offline transactions while bitcoin will always be that international currency that is cool and could be a reserve currency but can never be a national one.

I think that's highly unrealistic. As great as Bitcoin is, it still has its flaws. New technologies will come and go that are built on the Bitcoin framework that will eventually succeed Bitcoin. Unless the price magically jumps to $1m/BTC in the next few years this is never going to happen.

Which ''flaws'' you mean scaling? Scaling is NOT a technical flaw, it's a luxury problem and that will be solved.

I laughed when you said that new tech will come and go, you must be to young to understand how important new tech is.

Anyway, when Bitcoin reaches only 10% of m2..yes, i think 1m per pop will be achieved in a time span of atleast 20 years.

Never will. BTC is slowly becoming more and more useless by the minute. In the beginning BTC was the only thing worth money when all coins were fighting to be used as currencies and stores of value, but now that all of the they have actual utility, i dont see BTC holding up once mainstream adoption of crypto happens.

None of those shitcoins is used, except for speculations on exchanges!!
Check their daily transactions! They are ghost towns! All of them!
Bitcoin however is heavily used every day! And it works perfect as store of value! No one who is leading it and who could be threatened or jailed. With all those other coins and ICOs it's so easy for governments to go for the right people and put pressure on them.
Furthmore Bitcoin is still extremely innovative and will continue to progress. For now it's just taken hostage by a small minority of people who try to stall progress as long as possible.. Gladly this will change with august the first. It will be ugly but it is necessary and in the long run Bitcoin will continue to thrive.

I totally don't agree with this news because it is impossible for bitcoin to reach 1 million as the market cap is too less for the price to reach at 1 million. I also read another article that it will reach 1 million in one day , i mean come on this all is nonesense amd I'm pretty sure articles like this are posted to make it on the first page of search bar

That would be a $21 trillion market cap which I don't think will ever happen. Usd would have to cease to exist, and that's not gonna happen.

Title of this article is misleading piece of pure click bait, there is nothing about future prediction of when exactly Bitcoin would reach 1 million USD.
Instead there is info that bitcoin is growing rapidly since late 2016, registering an almost 200% growth in value and therefore we might see $1kk per BTC someday...

Such predictions can not be justified and also not to blame. Because everything can happen to bitcoin. May seem impossible but it all begins with a dream. If any speculators are predicting bitcoin up to 1 million $ then we have to appreciate. He thought so much that thinking about bitcoin was so high.

Bitcoin is open source, which basically means that anything that is, or might be forming somwhat of a problem, is pretty much solvable.

New technologies don't change anything here since every flashy altcoin nowadays offers a wide set of features, but they barely to almost never experience any sort of use.

Altcoins are nothing more than speculative investment opportunities for people, and that's really it.

People constantly complain about Bitcoin, and even "threaten" to move to altcoins due to the higher fees, but it's nothing more them barking without any actions that follows.

This has been speculated long back. Right now my wish is to have at least a single bitcoin in my wallet when the price reaches that high as $1 million. Hope this will come to reality before the day my life gets an end.

Don't you think that this particular target is a bit too far fetched? An exchange rate of $1 million would mean a market cap of almost $15 trillion (after removing 1.5 million lost coins). Right now, the total wealth in the world is around $300 trillion. An exchange rate of $1 million per coin would mean that Bitcoins account for almost 5% of the global wealth.

While I think a $Million price is inevitable, it will be a few decades before it gets here.

However, I think there is a 50/50 chance that we will see $100k/BTC within a decade.

I also expect to see $10k before the end of this decade.

Eventually, the blocksize problem will be solved. If nothing else, after several altcoins have a market cap greater than Bitcoin. This will result in a lot of people moving on to other coins. I honestly believe that part of civil war with Bitcoin right  now is being supported by shills that wish to destroy it. They won't totally succeed, but their actions will result in another coin taking the marketcap lead.

Once an altcoin takes the market lead, I suspect the people sabotaging Bitcoin will switch their targets, this will result in a real solution to the block size problem.

LOL. What are those market predictors are thinking? 1 million USD = 1 bitcoin?

I personally don't think it can reached this kind of price. Of course are all pessimistic and hope that the price can soon reach this. The article even mentioning about the ransomware virus and he think that company's now are hoarding bitcoin just to pay to the hacker. This made me laugh as well. Another completely rubbish article for me. The 1 million USD is not realistic to meet even in the future. Just really funny seeing a lot of articles now about bitcoin, unlike 2016 where we can only find news about the negative aspect of it like Ponzi, HYIP and for illegal activity. It is still publicity to bitcoin ecosystem though, although nothing new and out of this world prediction only.
