How about splitting the prize and then gamble again and reroll that winning you get? If you have the spirit of a genuine gambler, I'm sure that you'll choose and pick to gamble the whole prize and won't share it.

But for the sake of the other winner, I'm sure that there should be closure for both of you. You've got no choice if he disagrees with what you like so that's it.

In the end, that could result to splitting whether both of you agree or disagrees.

Let's say you join a give away with other user and both have to select a number between 1 and 10, you go for 7 while he goes for 9. The winning number is 8.

If the prize is 0.1BTC what would you do? Split the prize and walk away with 0.05 or Reroll to gamble for the full prize?

Mainly, I will choose to split the prize between the two of us especially if I know a friend of the other party involved in the giveaway. This way both of us will be able to receive and secure the prize evenly. However, if there is a condition where the closest rolled number will be the winner then logic suggest that a reroll will provide us a higher winning percentage to receive the full prize.

But in our case, in the end, not a single user guessed the number that fell out, so it's more like a reroll here, since the prize was not drawn and should remain in the pool, but this is what I think is much more important than what was in the rules in the conditions of the draw. Smiley

Dice rolling and gambling as a whole should not be played with full assurance and greed because there is no certain means of playing them that could guarantee the winning. This will ever make me reply the same irrespective of the gambling we are talking about. Specifically, when a winning of 0.05BTC is guaranteed, it is better to take the deal, this is reasonable and responsibly in gambling. It is not a must to take the whole winning (0.1BTC), which could make you lose everything. One has to avoid greed and keep good gambling psychology irrespective of the temptation.

I prefer to split the prize I am a guy who loves to share a pot or prize, there will be not one but more than people that will go home happy 0.05 is already a huge amount if we convert it into our currency that's more than a month of grocery and for paying bills I will be happy to share the giveaways so people will have something to bring home to his family, OP did not give us the terms or the rules but I guess the participants get to decide to reroll or split.

It is something that involves, chance and luck, and to own 0.1 BTC in full without having to share it. spontaneously, people will be forced to think quickly in a choice to take the opportunity to be chosen.

I can't answer this question. because after all, I'm not in a situation of choice.
it seems, one has to take into account the chance of getting the giveaway in full. there is a count before choosing to share, this situation is quite dramatic because it involves considerable value.
the question is, what are the chances of someone getting 0.1btc if they choose reroll, if it is not possible to win in full.
then the best option is to share it.

Every giveaway must have its own rules. For the case like you are talking about (a draw), I'm sure it is a common rule and most giveaway/contest/competition will split the prize if the result is a draw. However if there is no rule in the giveaway, I would prefer to split the prize as it is better than nothing. Re roll it means there is a chance for me to get the whole prize or get nothing. I'm pretty sure most people will choose to split it.

What are the terms and conditions given about the giveaway? Anything like anyone that has a guess closer to the number would be given the reward? If no condition like that stated, no one wins between the two people because the winning is 8 while the guesses are 7 and 9, which mean no winner. If stated in their terms and conditions like that, another guess would be conducted for two close winners again. But this kind of thing is not likely to happen during this type of guess.

i would prefer to split the prize 0.05 for me it would be more fair and not look greedy.
for me if it is too greedy at gambling it will not end well and it will not get a second chance.
maybe at that time he was lucky to get the number 0.05 BTC if he chose to reroll it would not necessarily get what he got before.
expecting 0.1 BTC looks like greed and selfishness which is not very good when done in gambling. luck won't come second time

It would depend on the amount. For a very large amount I would prefer to insure and split therefore. Smaller amounts I prefer to risk for the full price because I don't care so much about not getting the price. 0.1BTC is a middle ground for me, although I guess I would opt for trying to get the full price in this case.

I prefer to split the prize and go with 0.05BTC because if we replay it, we don't necessarily get 0.05BTC. So it was very rare for the three of us and it was better to each take our share and leave. After all, we can try it another time. Who knows, we might win it. But if the other two players choose to Reroll to gamble for the Wfull prize, we can do nothing but go along with it.

Being lucky to choose the number close to the winning number itself a big thing. For this reason I won't think of anything more, just split and get the winning. Will there arises such situation, because it is unfair to conduct a draw placing the numbers that weren't chosen by any of the participants.

Main thing to consider before you make your decisions with this scenario is the amount at stake.
Since your example is 0.1 BTC and that is unarguably a good amount to split between 2 people. I might be considering re-rolling if the amount to split on is less than $200. That's my threshold right there.
Nevertheless, with this amount in a current BTC price, you both walk away with almost $1k apiece. A win-win situation for both of you, always.

If you get satisfied already I guess having a split is ideal because not other chance that you can get a full prize if you split still you received a profit but if you make another reroll there's a  higher chance that you cant get the same number again for the odds of winnings, it depends on the ideal for a perspective of earning and being greedy. Playsafe to be is I the split.

Tempting choice.
But I think there's a lot of data missing to decide whether the decision is to walk away with half or keep betting.
If it's a game that's been going on for a long time or if the starting stake is low, it's very prudent to accept splitting the prize and end the game.
However, if the bet has just started or if it was 0.025 BTC or more, I would keep playing to try and win 1BTC alone.

A win of 0.1BTC to be split by 0.05BTC per individual in a pool is still a decent prize. If it were to be me, I'll walk away with what I've got rather than walk away with nothing as the case often is when you don't realise that you've been lucky and favoured in gambling.
The full prize is never yours, it has never been yours but could be and could not. When there is that probability and there is a win satisfaction, I prefer to leave it be and be happy about my win. There is always another day to try again than to end in grief and regrets. Out of 3 selections, only 1 #8 came through, how much more chances of disappointments before it all comes down to nothing.

Is it allowed to withdraw the prize right without any conditions or wagered requirements?

If yes, then it's a no-brainer if I will gamble the half. No reason to gamble all such an amount.

Withdraw it then gamble the 1/4 or 1/2 of your winnings and enjoy the rest of it on other things. Smiley

As a participant of the event, I do think that the host has all the right to decide which path they will take.  If they say split, then it is fine with me the same way it is fine to me if they go for a reroll to know the winner.  But I would choose a split since I do not want to gamble to win the other half.  I am happy for that 50-50 split.

I mean if the organizer allowed to split the prize since you guys both lost the number (but are one digit pretty close to it), then yea I'd split it. It's still money and I wouldn't really risk losing half of the pool for a small chance of winning. Logically though, why would the split even happen? Especially if you consider how there wasn't any rule of if no one got the number, the winner would be the closest to the winning number. Now if OP said that was in the rules then the conclusion would be sound, but it doesn't seem to be like it.

I will split the prize and gladly walk away with 0.05BTC with so much excitement in the air. The chance of winning the reroll is 50:50 probability. And been a random number it could end in a number far from the winning number. And this time the organisers too could cheat the system by making the chance of getting closer to the winning number more difficult. I will walk away while and smile at my wallet balance
