In the past I would take advantage of that and place live bets accordingly, but nowadays I refrain from doing that, since I find it immoral. A friend of mine placed a live bet against some cyclist who crashed in the Tour of Poland last year. That
cyclist died and my friend still feels bad for placing that bet.
Hmm, sad circumstances for sure, but calling such a bet "immoral" sounds a bit to harsh for me, because the bet had zero impact on the outcome of the event. But I get your point, that nevertheless you can't enjoy you winnings.
Can remember exactly on an Friday evening around 7 years ago:
I was about to participate at a garden party which is located a little bit abroad with no store nearby. Therefore I met me with 2 friends in the city beforehand to buy some stuff for the barbecue (and beer obviously).
Afterwards on the way to the bus station a mate wanted to place a bet on Bundesliga matches spontaneously as we were passing by a betting kiosk. So we entered the shop, sat down to a table and he began to write his betting slip. While we were waiting for him to finish this, a random swearing guy came over and showed us his slip. He bet on 5 draws in football games, claimed to have 4 right predictions already and the score of the only left game in 50th minute is 3:0, but unfortunately as stated he predicted there a draw too.
We politely declined his offer, because we didn't even know if he was telling the truth about the finished games. They seemed to be completely arbitrary chosen, can't recall the exact matchups but it was something like Nigerian league or second division of Japan teams I never heard before.
Thereupon he proved us that the finished games in fact ended up in draws and literally begged us to buy the slip for 1€, the initial bet was one Euro too. At the end we were buying it regardless of the negligible chance of winning it, the odds seemed to be more than fair. Finally we to took a bus to the party, checked the result in ~70th minute, still a 3:0 hence we forgot about it.
Several hours later someone checked the final result and yelled: "it ended 3:3, we won the 320€" We were kind of half-drunk already, so of course no one believed him for the moment and he was trolling anyway very often. But after he showed us his phone, we were convinced. The evening were very nice and much fun already, but this was a crowning moment for sure.

My 2 friends and me shared the winnings equally, such that everyone got a little bit more than 105€ (what was huge at the age of 18/19).
