Luton Town FC, yes I am very interested in this team, because their struggle to penetrate the highest caste of English football or the Premier League is extraordinary. They managed to win the last ticket after in the final round of the Playoffs they were able to conquer Coventry City through a penalty shootout.
I actually don't really know this team, but from several sources I read and described their journey and struggle to reach the Premier League is extraordinary. They also don't have a magnificent stadium and can only accommodate around 10k spectators. But their struggle to be able to realize their dream of playing in the Premier League was not in vain and this season it has come true.
After seeing some of their game footage, they have the potential to be able to compete in the Premier League. If the Premier League is held later, are you interested in betting on them?
They can finally play in their stadium? I read in someplace they have to make some works before they can play there to meet the Premier League standards.
I hope they can play there as it is, because it have something romantic and amateur that brings us some hope and realism. Its like in F.A when some big team has to play against some National League team or even lower and you see a traditional english pitch.
I am guessing that the construction is still going on, don't think that they are capable of playing there "now", but maybe they will be ready by the start of the season, I wouldn't know about that but I think they are working on making it work, that's the part we know so far. I believe that they are not going to stay for too long though, they can build a team that can maaaybe stay for a season, but eventually they are going to drop again.
Because no matter how good they were for championship, they do not have enough fan base and income to keep making it in premier league, they are going to get financially uneven matches with teams much richer than they are, and that will cause them to not have good enough players to build a squad that can stay for many years.
