*RESERVED FOR SPECIAL ANNOUCEMENT*(Updated)
Hi All,Many thanks for the comments and predictions!
Unfortunately, this announcement is not the usual sort of fun one, but more of an update on the
UK government rulings that have meant a massive change in imagery rights for sports betting companies working with EPL teams..
We all know that the UK government has been reviewing the sports betting sponsorship on UK sporting teams for some time, and we have not been sure which way that was to go. Everything from leaving it, to completely removing it has been on the cards now for some time.
Official Release: (brief summary)
Committee for Advertising Practice (CAP) has announced today the introduction of tough new rules for gambling ads as part of our commitment to safeguarding young people and vulnerable audiences.
“be likely to be of strong appeal to children or young persons, especially by reflecting or being associated with youth culture.”In practice, this
will significantly restrict the imagery and references that gambling ads will be allowed to use and should decrease the potential for gambling ads to attract the attention of under-18 in audience.
For example, ads will
not be able to use:
* Top flight footballers and footballers with a considerable following among under-18 on social media.
What does this mean for us and Bitcointalk? We just can't use Southampton or Arsenal pics anymore.
No players, No Emblems, No pics of Stadiums.. probably best to steer away from anything EPL graphic related for now TBH..
I wanted to do this as a joint post in our main thread here as we have such a great bunch of like-minded customers, users, fans, and decent blokes, who love doing independent promo threads (games and rounds!) to have fun, interact and generally have fun!
All of us at Sportsbet.io want those threads to continue! So please keep running with them, please keep hassling me on PM/DM on thoughts and suggestions for new threads!
I just need to be a bit careful on the
Southampton & Arsenal graphics stuff we use moving forward.... nothing stressful, just something to keep in mind!
regards,
Steve.
