There won't be a long wait, it isn't all agreed just yet but probably we will start with new season about a week after this one ends. Keep in mind that there will be cup games and promotion playoffs so most of the players will have a break of 2 or 3 weeks.

Nope, can't use VAR after the first game. The deadline for VAR is 2h before the start of the game, the same as for submitting the answers.

On the snooker question, I believe I used my Var and received a point from the game, but not for the person for whom I used my Var. At the end of the day, it was a waste of Var, but the information saved some asses.

I think that giving tips on the answers is a personal decision. Some of us like to write those tips here before the deadline, while others don't. I understand both and it's not something anyone should question. Thus is not betting, it's competition. With betting providing tips doesn't hurt anyone while in a competition someone's tip can really make a difference. I remember few weeks ago when casperBGD shared a tip (I can't remember what it was about) and that helped me get one point because I used VAR in that question. It's great for me that he shared that tip, but it wasn't great for my opponent because he lost a point (he didn't see the tip).

I think the essence of the VAR is personal, and it beats the purpose already, if everyone's throwing every possible answers here, I actually don't like the fact people drop answers to some question before round begins, It's understandable when it's just speculations but dropping real time answers beat the purpose of the competition especially knowing some players from the Clubhouse chat might not hang around this thread that often.

And on the Lionel Messi question I really didn't know if he was going to miss the game, the most I anticipated was a limited number of minutes and that was enough reason for me to change my answer, and If I had drop my intuition here and my opponent also followed suit on with my decision, I'd currently be trailing him.

The coach never said Messi wasn't going to play, all he said was Messi is available that if he wasn't available or ready to play he wouldn't have travelled with the squad for the Bolivia match, and that Messi being subbed of in the last game was a precaution and nothing more, my interpretation of his words is what lead to my decision, Bolivia was never an important or a tough team that the Argentines would need Messi's presence on the pitch for, so him not playing 90 minutes in the previous game, to was him saying he just needed much rest after the heavy fixtures of recent weeks in the MLS, and I just presumed travelling with the team for the Bolivia match was to fulfil is obligation as the team's captain and would likely sit that one out.

I would say that was the difficult part because there was just no expectation for Messi to not play. I didn't check it at all and I also submitted relatively late. He recently said that he will choose to be substituted more frequently to save some of his energy. But who would know that he takes this sentence to the next level and skips an entire game just a few days later?

As for Harkorede not sharing his VAR, I think that's totally ok. Kudos to him for being on top of things. But seriously, I think it makes sense to watch out more frequently for thew news when Messi plays or is supposed to play for the Argentina team. I wouldn't be surprised if he does indeed skip games more frequently. I wonder if this has something to do with his nausea attacks he had for a long time. Here he said it was due to bad eating habits, but what on earth would a stay player at his level eat that makes him throw up all the time?

This was probaby one of the stupidest thing I have done for the entire season. I was basically submitting my answer last minute and a simple search of using simple keyword such as ' will Messi play tonight against Bolivia ' will show me that he wont be in the lineup. I was too preoccupied with the answers of Messi to score / assist with Argentina to win because he was pretty good in Inter Miami so I thought that I wont be needing that extra check anymore.

Tough luck but atleast we are currently 1-1 right now with alot more different answers between us

I had the same thoughts but went against my gut instincts, and I did the same with the Morata question; he's been really dangerous and played a lot of minutes for Spain, and I'm thinking he may be rested, but for what? There is no news about Depay, and I believe Simeone will utilise Morata's form against Valencia this weekend. I'll be surprised if he doesn't start.

I wish Var was available till the start of every game, since it's limited, the misuse rate will be zero

For everyone who put messi to play its ok, i live here and also until last moment it was not clear if he was gonna play. Also it was a funny moment when Correa go into the pitch using the number 10 and the bolivians in the stadium think it was messi and started to chant, until they realized it wasnt him.
