Or, state laws, or Gods laws.

What you actually mean by "god's law" is "law created by an autocratic state millennia ago".

Who has authority? How about neither? People have authority over their own bodies, their own things, and their own dominion. The idea of "that's mine!" is something that even a child understands. And all our sstate laws, and even god's laws, eventually come out of that. The Golden Rule, or the Non-Aggression Principle can be extrapolated to every law we ever need, and pretty much every just law we ever had, regardless of whether it was from god or from state. Then at some point both religion and state decided they wanted more, and shit went to hell.

Oops, sorry.. Who has authority? Individuals do. I have authority over myself (body and/or soul) regardless of what the state, or even god, says. All they can do is tell me how they think I should act and do things. I am the ultimate aothority on what I actually do.

There is only one God.

If so he is very selfish.
Why didn't he made me a god too?
Probably he is an evil being.

State laws compared to Gods laws

I started this thread, because of some issues some people are having
in another thread/poll I started.

There seems to be some disagreements about who has authority.

The state, or God.
Or, state laws, or Gods laws.

Or, how should I define this. I made this thread for you to debate about
state laws compared to Gods laws, and I am actually interested in what
you have to say. I have wondered about this many times. Smiley

Dude.  People worship over 200 gods.

Which god do you mean?  Please be specific so we know which particular kind of nut job you are.
There's infinite gods, only one god.  One universe, one soul.  Ya dig?

But when you are talking about evil that the state may do,

perhaps you are referring to perversions of members of the state?

When members of the state pervert state laws that are 'good',

perhaps condemning 'innocent' persons?

Sure, that can happen too, but they are supposed to be ministers of good unto the population.

There are mysteries.

Ok, so if the ruler is a tyrant and evil workmen abound, then perhaps consider that in general the people would not repent, and the people were in general being evil, so the wrath of God came upon them? The good and the evil might get caught up in large political upheavals like this.

God is Sovereign!

God Appoints Whom He Wills To Rule Over The Kingdoms Of Man

The holy bible also mentions the 'Man Of Sin' and so, perhaps strangely there may be events that are occurring because of the evil of a person, somehow 'outside' of the power of God? (I somehow wonder if this is ever possible?)

By the way, vod, I was a non-believer for over 30 years of my life, and if I can be forgiven, then perhaps you can too. I had a rough conversion. Don't mock me.

The state is the minister of good unto you.

People who are doing good should have nothing to fear from the state or its laws.

People who do evil do have reason to fear the state and the state laws.

And of all the evil the state accomplishes, who do they fear?  Certainly not God.

The 'evil' that the state accomplishes may be kind of a mystery. Have you ever considered talking to an ordained priest and ask him what that is about?

I will tell you, that in general, you ought to fear the state.

If God Did Not Spare His Own Son, Then You Should Fear The State, because the state is Gods minister of Good unto you, but if you will not do good, then you should fear.

But as you know, God did not spare his own son, and Jesus was without sin.

So there is mysteries. Unsearchable riches.

Who wrote the Bible?

We know that it was written after 60AD.  One book references a temple event that happened at that time, and all the other books reference the first.

So it was written by people who never met or had heard of JC.

You are only making any kind of point at all with other non-believers vod. But by mocking as you have done a few times, you are making yourself look bad to the rest of us. I think you said you are from Canada?
I think that most of the politicians in canada say they believe in Jesus, or they may not use those words, but may say they have christian affiliations somehow. I think steven harper is a christian.

George Bush was being interviewed, and they asked George who he thought was the most important person in history...

George Bush replied: "Jesus Christ!"

The most important person in history, and I agree with George Bush on that one.

Believing in jesus does not make us stupid vod.

Rather, the bible tells us: 'BE WISE AS SERPENTS, BUT HARMLESS AS DOVES'

Let's try this from the top:

Of course it does!  It also makes you gullible.  You're more likely to fall for bitcoin scams if you believe anything you are told.

I thought the state kind of had its beginnings because of people wanting or needing a leader?
And it grows from that, and becomes the state.

Also, transgressions occur, and people want or need some rules. Once again, justifications for the state.

There's a big difference between people following a leader and people belonging to a ruler; difference being, whether or not you can stop following him once he decides to jump off a cliff.

People make their own rules; even this forum has its own special set of rules, and no higher authority had to invent them; they were picked because they've been practiced before and seem to work.  Some people use higher authorities to back their made-up rules with force; this is why God and the state exist.  This occurs when a set of rules aren't best for everyone, and the most powerful individual decides he doesn't care what's best for everyone, only what's best for him (which is nearly always.)  It works out well with people who don't know any better, not so much with everyone else.

ok, vod, why don't you look it up at wikipedia, and come back and tell us where they have categorized the true God then.

Sure - what is the URL that says your god is the true one?

Post it here than everyone can see.    Cheesy

"You shall have no other Gods before Me" ...

This is a thread for debating about state laws compared to Gods laws. This is not a thread to debate about all the pagan Gods, compared to the true God.

The true God, is the God of Abraham, Moses, Jacob and Jesus Christ.

Yes, that is the saying for one religion.

As I stated, they are hundreds out there.  Each one has it's own sayings and fables, some are printed in red, others bolded, but they all are the same nonsense.

Your god is in the minority in humanity, so its proper not to call it the true god. It's no different that the flying spaghetti monster.
