Hi! I come to be away from high hard cap ICOs. It does not give high returns. Tough to find low to mid range caps these days. Any good suggestions?

ICO's are anti-the counter revolution that is crypto. If a project can't make it in community I think it has no business surviving. So many scams built upon vapor ware.

The best is to do your research, find a coin with potential, invest low and wait.

Look for undervalued and underdog coins.

For example i got invested in CRAVE a few days after they rebooted it, with a few cents per coin. Now they are at $2.7 per coin.

explain me about high category? its more than 10 million $ or between 30 million above or what else? i think ICO will success when its popular and get huge participants..

Indeed, there's no connection between the market cap and the values but I think the popularity of a particular coin has a bigger impact in the market. I really don't think the market cap is causing the value of the coin.

I think there is, since the marketcap is calculated by the price of coin multiplied by the total number of tokens in circulation, the reason most of these high priced coins are dumping is because they are hyped and people followed the herd and were disappointed because no one will by it from them at that high price

If ICO have no hard cap this is a problem if u want to sell token right after ICO. Because everybody who needs this coin have bought it already. But in long term everything may be ok. Big ICO also hard to make x10. Small easy can do this. To move its price u need not a very big amount of money.  At the beginning of ICO was a strategy by them put x2-x4 sell order and wait) Because ICO was just a few millions.

In my opinion this depends on the project itself and the idea behind it. Actually ICO's with low hard caps are kind of shady ICO's in my opinion, because they want to create hype around their ICO and then artificially drive price up because there was a low hardcap.

The idea of ICO's is to distribute tokens in a fair manner to the public by selling the tokens and raising money from that (crowdfunding). The ICO model is not intended to make a small circle of investors rich in a fast manner. Although unfortunately some people have forgot that and look at ICO's like at a quick money scheme.

An ICO with a solid idea will set a high hard cap for fair distribution and still be successful, just because the business idea will work and adoption and therefore demand for the coin / token will follow organically.

Those are my personal thoughts on ICO's.

I agree with this. Also, high or low really doesn't matter technically, it's more of a psychological factor. Low cap can mean that you only have a few devs who might get tired of the project and abandon it, but it also means higher potential growth if it succeeds. There's always a trade off. A coin can fail or be pumped and dumped even if it isn't intended to be a scam by the devs.

This speculation is highly debatable because there's no concrete explanation why some high market caps is low valued while the lower caps are increasing so I think there's another good explanation but as of now I can't find any comments in the thread for me is valid. Maybe someone could make some research.

It is in fact good to get no return from a high cap ico, you usually get less than you invested after it is listed on exchanges.  Smiley

I don't think that any project would ever raise more than $100M in 2018. The future is for low cap projects. I believe that any startup doesn't need so much money to implement any kind of idea.
Even now when BTC is dying Sad

It depends what you mean by a high cap.

Nowdays a 40m cap isnt that high really when you look at coins like Trezar which raised over 200m for example.

And with the current influx of new money, many of these 40m coins are jumping to 100+ within a week or release which is crazy.

I think only following ICOs of these projects, for me, are reasonable: Aragon, 0x, OAX, ethereum, and mostly old ICOs. now only 2-3% of ICOs are investable.

How can you recognize a scam coin? High cap?

High cap doesn't show that the project is a scam. First of all we need to look at the team and founders, their background and previous experience. This is the most indicative.

How much is a high cap? In my opinion, Which project need more over $50 million is a high cap project. Therefore, I would like to suggest you some medium cap project. They are INS ecosystem and Wepower. Wepower provides a project use green power to mine Bitcoin while INS provide a platform for the consumer can buy commodities from the manufacturers directly. You can access their website to get more detail and invest.

ICO is always a risk. You give your money to the project, white paper, the team and the work plan. You invest in the idea.

Experienced traders as I know always prefer low cap coins and low cap ICO they said will gave much more returns of course if  project is solid.
So, it is risky but much more profitable and your risk minimizes with your own due diligence.
