I can say they really are scammers, they just stole my 571 FTM , all my Fantom funds, I give them all proofs of deposit and screenshots of TX credited in their deposit Address, but it was never credited in my account.

I just tired of write them emails every day for the same matter, you can see other review of people with same problems:

https://medium.com/@hotbitvictims/how-hotbit-exchange-scammed-its-users-bc07c518b42d

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/agnhh5/proof_that_hotbit_is_a_scam_exchange_completely/

https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.hotbit.io

Used this exchange before as I needed to trade my tokens that was only listed on their exchange. Had no problem but withdrew my funds afterwards. And never used it again for the fear that my funds will be trapped or something. If you can trade your coins to other reputable exchanges, better go there. Exchange with several unresolved issues is not a safe one to trade with.

Glad that it's been resolved for you. Last time I had the some similar issue (ETH contract) on Hitbtc, and it too them months and a hefty fee to get things back on track.

Hello Community,
I have an update regarding HOTBIT.IO.
At first it was a ruff start but in the end they helped me out. (They restored my deposit)
Below is the last email thread by HOTBIT.IO.

Hi, your deposit has been completed. Now you can login your account to check it on the Deposit History.
Please do not use smart contract again on Hotbit. You could deposit to your own wallet such as MEW wallet firstly and then transfer to Hotbit if you have to use smart contract.
Hope you enjoy trading on Hotbit!
Best!

@KOENIG: I've used their platform before without much issues but I always have a feeling that it's similar to those Hitbtc-ish exchanges.

But for your case, why are there two different contract addresses? Did HOTBIT specify that address to be 0x41ab1b6fcbb2fa9dced81acbdec13ea6315f2bf2 and you could have mistakenly sent it to the wrong address?

Sometimes this could happen if you happened to install some malware extension which changes your destination address to the "hijacker's".

Hello,
Im not sure why there were 2 different contract addresses. When i make a deposit, i always double check to see if im depositing to the correct address to avoid issues such as this. Also, at that time of the deposit there was no special notice of a change of some sort on their withdrawal/deposit page.
To be fair, i have an update from HOTBIT that i would like to share that i just received.
They claim that my deposit was from a smart contract which is prohibited from the exchange. (hm...)  With that being said, they also mentioned i dont have to pay the additional .3 ETH fee and that they were gonna help retrieve my XDCE tokens.
I hope they will deliver on their promise. (I'll keep the community posted)
Below is the email thread,
Chris

Hi,through our check, we found that you have deposited from smart contract. However, smart contract transfer is prohibited on our exchange. Please refer to this link: https://help.hotbit.io/hc/en-us/articles/360003945774-The-notice-regarding-the-prohibition-of-smart-contract-bitstamp-etc-transfer-to-Hotbit- and we have noticed you in the interpage of deposit

We will help you to retrieve your ETH. Please do not transfer ETH to Hotbit through smart contract again since we prohibit such a transfer way of smart contract. You could withdraw it to wallet first and then transfer it to Hotbit.
we will verify and confirm all information and then process your request immediately.

I have used HOTBIT before without any issue, always deposit what i can afford to lose, there are not many complains about this exchange only some fud maybe from the competitors.

OP did you send the erc20 tokens to the right deposit address?

I also consider that the HOTBIT exchange is no problem but many say that the exchange is a coin disposal site so that there is a big dump, and I also always deposit erc20 tokens with no problems at all but I don't often use this exchange if the coin price is still at another exchange.

I once send the wrong token to the wrong contract on Livecoin, i open a ticket and they replied that they will not return the coins because was my fault i send to the wrong contract, so whatever.

WOW!!!! so sad... I cant believe you guys want me to deposit MORE money...
I had high hopes  that you would reach out to your customers and help them...
I just realized you guys put out a fake address for XDCE and then i have to pay for it.. And now you want me to make another deposit to fix this.
So after all,  it wasnt the other exchange, "COSS.IO", that made the mistake.. It clearly shows that the money or (XDCE) was deposited to you guys, and
now you wont credit my account. On top of that, you want me to give you guys .3 ETH to fix this...  I gave you guys all the PROOF IN THE ATTACHMENTS, and
i even took multiple screenshots to plead my case and yet i am still denied.
SHAME ON YOU!!!!  This is a dishonest thing you guys are doing!!!!!!
You mentioned earlier, that your site HOTBIT.IO is risky site.. I guess you guys werent lying!!! Your customers risk their money daily investing with you.
You guys scammed me out of $160.....Shame on you!
You guys have made the start of the New Year a very disappointing one......

Hi,
3. Due to the strict risk control verification process, you need to pay 0.3 ETH by original sending address( 0xd1560b3984b7481cd9a8f40435a53c860187174d  ) that you transferred this transaction mistakenly to switch back the coins. The transerred address is 0x5c0e7D5D2c3f244083eA00a8c6b17c42120ac632 and then send TXID to us so that we can check it for you. Attention please: Due to the strict risk control verification process, we can only send your assets back to your original sending address( 0xd1560b3984b7481cd9a8f40435a53c860187174d ) later.

Dear Respected Users:
During your deposit process, please do carefully verify and confirm your deposit address and the type of token you intend to deposit (due to the fact that there are many types of ERC 20 tokens, it is possible that different types of ERC 20 tokens may share the same abbreviation while their full titles may be different from each other) if you deposit your tokens into the wrong address, it is very likely that your tokens will not be retrieved.
Hotbit is not responsible for helping our users to retrieve all mistakenly deposited tokens. However, in order to help our users to retrieve all serious loss caused by their misoperation, we will still try our best to retrieve all tokens that are mistakenly deposited by our users. Please read all following information carefully and wait patiently:
1. If any of your tokens was/were deposited mistakenly, please provide us with the following information: Your Hotbit account, the email address you registered with Hotbit,UID(the last few numbers of the invite link of your Hotbit account is your UID ) the type, address, amount, TXID(this is very important) of the token(s) you deposited by mistake, the screenshot that shows your deposit information.
2. In order to retrieve your mistakenly deposited tokens, we would have to conduct relevant operations such as extra installation or upgrade on the software of our wallet, the import and export of the private key and so on. Due to the fact that only those staff with very high authority are allowed to conduct relevant operations and that the whole process has to go through very strict risk control verification process, such operations require huge amount of time, labor cost and risk control cost. It might take one to two months to retrieve your assets. Please do be patient.
3. Due to the strict risk control verification process, you need to pay 0.3 ETH by original sending address( 0xd1560b3984b7481cd9a8f40435a53c860187174d  ) that you transferred this transaction mistakenly to switch back the coins. Hello,
Please take a look again. They are both XDCE (XINFIN NETWORK).. I just transferred all my XDCE to HOTBIT because i didnt like the COSS.IO exchange.
I checked the address twice to make sure i was doing everything right, and i did.  Also, what are the chances of having 2 ticker symbols of XDCE?
I really need your help to solve this.
I was starting to like the HOTBIT exchange and i would like to maintain it that way. Im not a scammer and i am an honest human being!
Please do make me lose all my funds. Really look into to this.
Thanks in advance,
Chris Koenig

Hi, the contract address of XDCE on Hotbit is 0x41ab1b6fcbb2fa9dced81acbdec13ea6315f2bf2
However, the contract address of XDCE that you transferred is  0xd1560b3984b7481cd9a8f40435a53c860187174d
There are two different logos and they are not the same coins. Therefore, it is not shown in your account.
Best regards!

If an exchange is faking their volume data, they shouldn't be trusted. It's simple as that.

It's good that you picked up on that because they might not actually be doing anything to the customers at the moment, but the fact that they are willing to fraudulently produce figures for their own good would suggest to me that they are not to be trusted. Unless Hotbit can come out and rebut your arguments, of course.

But for now, i'd definitely avoid them. Wouldn't come as a surprise if the volumes of other markets on their site are fabricated as well. What was the deal with the user getting his account suspended here, btw?

He said whenever he placed a sell order, it never did fill and on the contrary the price kept dropping and strange as it may sound the prices were now 20k sats lower from what it was on poloniex. He complained about this on Telegram an they banned him lol as their little secret leaked :/

I'm so surprise with this information provided about Hotbit concern fake trade volume because I'm user of the exchange site and I never had any issue them ever since have been using the exchange. Besides, I even have a problem whereby I sent some TUSD through old contract address and the help me fix the problwm asap. However, checking the GRin on there but the information since to be the same.

Wash trading is not directly related to your trading experience. Sure you might don't see any problem such as pending withdrawal for days etc, but you might face a lack of liquidity because the volume is fake. Your sell or buy order might not get triggered at all even you set it at the best price atm. Illiquid exchange or exchange who has a lot of fake volumes is a disaster if you look for decent volume.

The volume isnt at all what they claim and it suggests just one thing -  You can't trust a service like this.

That's right.
Unfortunately it seems to be endemic in crypto exchanges.

Always knew kucoin and okex were shit. Thanks for sharing the website. Very informative indeed.
