I think that is like scam because you steal the power of the computer without publicly declaring it. But such games can't stay on those platforms.

You mean that the game of steam is actually digging XMR? Although there is fraud, I think the person who created the software is really a genius. If this method is applied reasonably, it is definitely a huge wealth.

For the creator? Hell, yeh! lol Wouldn't be illegal if you actually knew you were mining something for somebody else, but by hiding it from people, you just make it into a crime

They're using those mining software scripts everywhere... It's quite disturbing that somebody is using your GPU power without you knowing' they're basically making a profit off of you and you get nothing in return, except hell of an electrical bill! This will bring more regulation into place, which eventually will not be bad for the market but will make things harder and harder for crypto startups with more requirements coming their way.

There has been previous record of such incidents happening at steam. Games like Abstractism mined coins through the users without their knowledge and gained profit from it. But, I think steam is at fault here as they should have been the one to make sure no such thing happens from there end. Hopefully, they will be more careful before putting up game on their store.

Icon ICO is from South Korea. They have really strong team combined of Korean crypto experts and advisors like Don Tapscott and Eddy Travia. Currently their tokens are listed at $0.78 on Binance. But this is due to the current market situation. Hopefully, they can prove to be profitable in the future.

There wouldn't be so much fuss about the game if they had just mentioned it in their description that it is going to mine through the users. But then again it would have made the users abandon it sooner or later. Looks like it is best for everyone now that steam has removed the game from their platform.

The level of scams are getting way put of control. People are even trying to scam the users through games. this is such a low act. I hope this will be stopped soon before things go out of control.

Games were a very fun and unique way to earn crypto. And the corrupted minds of the people have found their ways into making this a way to scam people too. This is truly pathetic. We need to be more on alert from now on.

This is very pathetic. Games were one of the unique ways that the people could take a break and earn at the same time. And this got tainted to due to some people's greed. This scammers need to be restrained before things go way out of hand. Please people, be careful before investing in anything in the market now.

This is a devastating news to witness. If people starts to scam us like this, then the people will lose their trust in the market. Serious steps needs to be taken against them or else this will lead to the doom of the crypto world.

I heard that for six months the game is secretly mining cryptocurrency on users ' computers, despite the negative reviews it has not been removed. In General, it's cool, now you should not trust any incomprehensible indie projects.

This should be set as an example for other fraudulent games and apps that mine coins through their users' devices. The unfair activity occurred from the game developers' end as they clearly didn't mention anywhere about the mining thing otherwise they would have still been there on Steam's platform.

Bitcoin isn't a bubble. It's the pin!
Background mining scripts are getting smarter everyday and like viruses and malware, mining blockers too need to update frequently to counter newer scripts that attempt to use users processing power without consent to mine for them. Owners of such script should be penalized for theft.

I can easily see background mining taking place in many different places in the future. Having it happen with a game was inevitable and just the beginning. Even some websites you visit will have background mining too. I can easily see this becoming like some sort of virus. You'll need to make sure now that when you download something, even if it is from a reputable source, make sure that there are no background mining processes running. I am really surprised that steam didn't catch this in the first place.

It's really sad. I wonder what just happening in this market. Scams are taking place in every way. Now it started to expand it's wing into games now. I am afraid of the fact of trusting anything in this market. Hope scams will be controlled in the near future.

First there were hidden miners on sites (and even more and more), and now on games. I guess there will be always people that try to abuse things...

This is just not good for anyone. People are getting irritated by these kind of scams. If scams are not get controlled sooner it will lose the peoples interest in taking part in ICO and games. These two area was the most attractive ones but now it is like a threat.

In love with Bitcoin!! 💓💕
Yes,it seems the first ever case of a Steam game involved in crypto jacking players' computers. Steam has since removed the game, but the main reason they removed is not because of the miner but because it was imitating some of the Team Fortress game items.
