I believe that bitcoin will plateau at $5000 or above within 20 years.  It may someday go much higher, but I believe that is decades away.  So I think that it is safe to buy at any price below $5000 as long as you are willing to buy and hold.  If you plan on selling soon then this is probably not a safe time to buy.  I would not be surprised if the price falls below $300 once or twice more on its way to $5000+

We are close to 300$ so we may go back there a few times but your 5000$ goal is a bit arbitroray : why not 3,500$ or 11,000$; we don't know what will be the value of the USD in 10 years except that it will be a lot less than now; maybe 50% less but maybe 98% less

Put some buys at 340 and 360 area since it already got down to 380 today.

And then wait for the price go in the 500 area and sell it.

The market is seeing a nice healthy retrace, which will most likely develop a support on the bottom part of an upward channel. You didn't think this would all happen in one day did you?

I won't be surprised to see slight correction soon, but overall situation is more bullish than bearish, IMO.
I've recently spent all available fiat buying at around $380, then I sold at $420-$450 and now buying back at lower $400s.
I'll also keep some fiat hoping to catch some coins at high $300s, but I can be wrong.

Still safe to buy now?
Now it's around $400-$450
Thinking about buying more now before it may boost up.

What do you guys think?

I would advise you to buy now in case it shoots up to much higher but keep some fiat available in case it goes down to buy at a lower price as well and don't invest money that you will need soon or that will cost you too much money in interests or fees.

Always buy all the BTC you can, no matter what the price. Nobody can predict the price, you got to trust the BTC technology!

Buy low sell high. Not buying after a huge rally and hoping it to go up further.

OP, think your question through for a sec.  Do you believe a living, breathing, self-sustaining bitcoin economy can exist if people AREN'T constantly buying some bitcoin regardless of the exchange rate?  Do you think when the exchange rate gets really large that people will just stop buying?  How do you think it will get there in the first place?

For the bitcoin ecosystem to grow large worldwide, users will need to continually buy some amount of bitcoin at $400/btc, $4000/btc, $40,000/btc etc. and every exchange rate in between, and then use it.  The notion of a "safe" price doesn't exist, nor should it.  Especially when you can buy as little as $0.01 worth or even less no matter what the exchange rate is.

Get it?
I use BTC in my trades everyday. Grin
Part of the BTC bought I just want to keep for speculations.

Do whatever fits your strategy. In my case, as long as the price is below my average buyin it's time to buy. After that, maybe time to reassess.

Despite the confident answers, nobody knows the future price. Your guess is as good as any.  Huh

It is, however, always "safe" to buy.

We are still in the big down trend, the price lost almost 60% just compares to where it was at months ago, better think very carefully

Huh? We are in huge uptrend since 2009

We probably entered an up trend - now buy on dips sell on tops should be a good strategy.

The current dip might be a good time to buy.

We do not know how long will this rally last, but generally, IMHO it is not unsafe to buy below $500.

We'll probably drop again and find support a little over $400 before heading higher, so if you're not too afraid, put an order in and cross your fingers. That said, who knows what will happen?
