The current "crash" is caused by one bad "news" after another. A lot of them are the false or twisted truth.

For example, today, once again "China Full ban crypto". What the... Why is it causing another crash?? Why is it even "news"?

It was already banned in China back in September 2017. All trading platforms suspended trading in September. Anyone from China who still trade Crypto must be using foreign platforms. Sure, they reported that China added all crypto exchange sites to Great FireWall. So what? These people have VPNs! When I was in China, everyone who visits foreign sites use VPNs. Yes, China banned VPN as well a long time ago. So what? Everyone is still using it. Just like ignoring the traffic light is illegal in China, but at every intersection, you will see people ignore the red lights... the truth! Just because it is "illegal", does not mean no one will do it.

So just this (one) news of China banned Crypto, it was repeatedly used to crash the Crypto market (4 or 5 times). Do not fall for it!
1. Summer 2017, China banned ICO.
2. September 2017, China banned crypto trading.
3. November or December? China became unfriendly to crypto mining (Large-scale miners moved oversea already)
4. January 2018. China banned websites of foreign crypto exchanges. (VPN!!!)
5. Today, "China Full Ban Crypto"... (Really?)

So what is next?
"China really ban crypto"?
"China really full ban crypto"?
"China really really full ban crypto"[IMG]
"China will jail anyone who trades crypto"[IMG]
"China will execute anyone who trades crypto"?
"China will nuke every country who trade crypto"[IMG]??

Stop spreading this nonsense. What's done was already done in September 2017. Nothing has changed ever since. NOTHING really changed in the last 4~5 months.

Yellow journalism at its best.

Same goes for Korean and Indian news. South Korea did not really ban crypto. Just one guy wanted to ban it. It was not approved, nor implemented. So far they have only added regulations that people can no longer trade anonymously. So what? Didn't Coinbase, Kraken, Bittrex etc. US-based platforms all require our IDs and photos?

India also did not ban crypto. Just a minister made some unfriendly speech toward crypto. No real "ban" whatsoever.

From the look of it, someone or some groups are trying hard to make the prices go down. The sad thing is, people are falling for it. The same China "news" was used on 5 occasions to cause the market crash while nothing was really changed or happened. Korean news was used on at least 2 occasions.

The bottom line is, let's just ignore all the stupid "news". Use our brains. Not hearsay from yellow journalism. It is getting annoying to have every little "news" to impact the market price.

yes it's all fud people are falling for and it's ridiculous. Either way, from long term perspective that is fine as it won't cause any harm. Only shot term is quite annoying, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter

You can ask users here to stop listening to fake negative news about bitcoins but what about media. A lot of people follow news blindly and they are always reporting negative things.

Well,  I think false news is inevitable. It is because of the most used form of media today,  namely the social media.  The problem with social media is the people who are using it.  They are equally misinformed for the reasons that sometimes,  when they real the headline,  they usually do not read the entire news that is why they are misinformed.  Another reason is that they are reading and believing on all the articles that they have read without knowing if the article they have read is reliable or not. It is even ironic to hear false news or fake news because news is meant to be the truth, but again,  people must be media and information literate for them not to be fooled by these false news.  They must try educate themselves on how to know if the article or the news they are reading is credible or not.

It's not just the media, it's the people who use the media to spread negative news about cryptocurrencies. And this can be whales who try to bring down the price or government and bank officials who are against cryptocurrencies. Spreading false news is not new and is not only referring to crypto, this is something from all times. People just have to be smart enough to see it through and to realize It's fake.

I have seen newbies getting themselves in a panic situation and situation considering such news but they fail to do their own research and in most of the cases, such news items are false. Any government cannot ban crypto to crypto transactions unless they are banning the internet itself. The core principle of crypto is all about decentralization and hence such measures are taken while programming this clever code so any government cannot restrict it.

people really need to learn more about something and not just in bitcoin, because people easily to attract to false news and they make a wrong decision. sometimes if they making a mistake, they can only regret but it's too late to realize and they need to fix their mistake by their own. and if some countries ban bitcoin, I believe that people will search other ways like for using VPN or another else and I am sure that people could still connect to the internet and they can also access the bitcoin.

I hope that banks will soon buy bitcoins and then be able to offer them to customers. Only in this way the price could start to rise again.

Why would they do that? What will be the point if they will be doing this? What's the catch for them? Banks have nothing to do with the price movement, Bitcoin goes down and that is the volatility of Bitcoin so we need to wait we don't need other people or third party to put their heads into these because they have nothing to do with it.

This is definitely right. Why people keep on spreading and listening to fake news. Their just destroying the crypto world and adding up to the dumping of coins. People listen to these false news without even investigating if they are reliable or not.

the bad news, false news, FUD, manipulation,... and all the things like that are a part of bitcoin market and we can not do anything about them. things will always be like this, the magnitude of the effects will shrink over time though!

what we CAN do is to learn how to take advantage of the situation and make profit from it. for example when the FUD waves start and we can see the manipulation is starting up we can sell our coins but only do it if we are at the beginning of the drop not after >10% has dropped! then the drop that happens after the FUD is a very good opportunity to buy back or simply buy bitcoin with fiat to increase the amount of bitcoin we are holding for the future rallies.

Yes, of course we don't have to listen to the wrong news let alone want to drop bitcoin and seek news of bitcoin.

We should not believe and listen to false or fake news because it gives us discouragement in trading. Trading in Bitcoin is very challenging and gives joy to us. We should spread the positivity to other investors so that they will have the courage to invest more. We must read and watch the news to credible and well-known broadcasters.

There is too much fake news out there and without being labelled a tinfoil hat wearer, it is most of the crap digested by people from the major media outlets. The manipulation that has already been proven in the forex, libor and precious metals markets is now creeping over to crypto.
