I think all we know is that they have spoken to some Korean exchanges. That may not mean much at all.
However Stratis has a history of strong volume so I'd guess that exchanges would want it

If you know most of the characters would it be possible to crack it with some software? After all, there must be a greatly reduced number of possibilities.

Even I didn't find any news about the Stratis coin but anyhow the price of Stratis is increasing in the market. Everyone to the community Headsup and watch the Stratis market.

I immediately bought more ARK, because like STRAT, I believe in it as a fundamental project that has real world implications. I'm also proud to say that I've made back every penny and MORE from trading it religiously to try and make up for my mistake. The only person that is gonna be able to get you over this, is you. Pick yourself up and start making things right again by earning it back yourself! Afterall, if I can do it, you DEFINATELY can with the amount of dedication you've shown in here! Good luck with your future endeavors...

The more I think about the rollback issue, the more I would lean to a NO, if I had to decide it.
It's a dirty job and a political question to Stratis LLC as a company, whether they would do stuff like that (for a bounty e.g.), honestly I wouldn't ...
And such a decision shouldn't be considered as a negative for the platform.

Devs on Slack have explained that they are talking to many different exchanges. However, to my knowledge, there have been no official announcements.
With that said, the amount of work the Stratis Team have been putting in is incredible. They are making huge progress and those who are patient will certainly be rewarded imo

Amazing, someone actually gets it. Yes, the plan was to have the relevant exchanges provide a list of Startcoin addresses they've generated, then as a one time courtesy (and with the clear statement that this won't be done again as everyone is now aware of the potential for confusion between STRAT and START addresses), community members would have to prove ownership of the originating address, and the destination address must be entirely unspent. That's how it would all be considered safe and fair.

But the devs have already stated they're against it. So I wasn't even lobbying for this anymore. Not sure why Foerster brought it up again. Might be that reading comprehension issue rearing its ugly head again :/

There's no real concept of "broad consensus" as Stratis doesn't have a built in governance mechanism as such. Basically whatever the devs say goes when it comes to hard forks. The plan was not to hard fork specifically for this, but to include it in the next hard fork.

If they started turning back transactions because coins were sent to a wrong address, who knows if they wouldn't start messing with chain integrity for even lesser issues.

These coins are burned and have vanished forever. However, their value has not. Since the supply has been deflated, their value has been transferred to all existing non-lost coins. Maybe you should ask their owners if they would give some of this value back to you.

A hard fork (to turn back transactions(!)) should only be used on issues of global importance and with broad consensus.

Would Bitcoin do a hard fork because some dudes lost their BTC due to sending them to a wrong address because they didn't use any security measurements? Stratis has literally nothing to do with this. Might as well go whine at the exchange because of their shitty GUI.
