They will be supporting POW for sidechains. I think thats what they mean.

Exactly. We will be supporting multiple consensus algorithms.
The Stratis mainchain will stay Proof of Stake though.

So Stratis will be POW/POS hybrid?

kewl, well here is another question, will the breeze wallet(s)/other nodes still be POS? I mean if the lowest type of node is going to need 1000 strats will i lose out if i move them from my pos staking wallet to become a node?

I bought a few more STRATIS today and will keep for long term. I don't have many but still some is better than nothing as STRATIS will be one of the most prominent tokens/platforms over the next few years and everyone should have some in their portfolio.
