Stuck at member rank despite the fact that I have high number of posts...can anyone explain what is going on?

I think the reason you're stuck on the Member rank is clear with all the above contribution posts. What I can add by checking my merit dashboard is this:

You are amongst 2.889 members that, having enough Activity, lack Merit to rank-up. Of those, 2.473 in your exact situation (with less than 20% of the required Merit to reach the next rank), 298 have between 20% and 40% of the required Merit, 25 between 60% and 80% and only 11 are nearly there (less than 20% Merit to go).
Quite some pipeline to surpass …

Well, receiving a few hundred bucks in bounties may be a huge amount of money for people from third world countries. So I understand that they try to participate in bounties as much as possible

I'm a new also here in this community wishing to be active a lot but as usual I can't. But still lucky to found this and learn a lot.. Merit gives me hard but if I didn't get it then I don't have choice but to keep browsing and learn more. Everyone here is wishing to rank continuously but like me its hard this Merit basis to rank up. and Yes i can't post as many as I want since I am not a full active.

You can't really get merits because your account is just bounty hunting. I've read your post history and I found out that you are mainly active in bounties section. I just don't really know why you guys focus more on hunting bounties than really looking for a decent paying job. I guess bounty hunting in exchange for shitty coins is a total waste of time. Sorry about my sarcasm, but you guys are the reason why this forum is being spammed by newbies everyday asking on how to do bounties and asking for merits to rank up and increase bounty allocation. The main purpose of this forum was defeated due to members making bounty armies just to make a living.

Stop worrying about the merits for you to rank up. The best thing for us newbies to do in this forum is accumulate and learn as much free knowledge as we can that we can use for the betterment of our lives as a crypto enthusiast. What is rank if you don't know anything about the thing you love most which is crypto. Learning and ranking up is a process. Everything is a process so just be patient and everything will come in God's perfect time for us to shine. Just make sure that your post today is better than every posts you make yesterday and the previous days. I know I have no right to say this for I myself has no merits but if I were to get a merit on my post, I'd make sure that it will be worth it and satisfying and would be of help to the readers. Even a single merit on to our well constructed, well thought of and genuinely crafted post is already a big deal or a step for us to make a difference in this forum. Everyone of us in here do have our own time table when it comes to success financially and emotionally. We just have to think outside the box, even if we are newbies there are still lots of opportunities in here that we can use. Knowledge is power, so better take advantage in accumulating lots of information from this forum about crypto and contribute in this forum without expecting any merits at all and everything will just come in place in the right time.

Unfortunately, in the signature of every single post above, is the reason why ranking up will continue to be a struggle. Nothing
against you, or the previous posters, but the Merit system truly does make it harder for shite posters to use this forum,  solely
for the purpose of making a buck.

Not really unfortunate.  I'm all for shit posting and arguing, but shit post your true opinion with basis.  Not your opinion, because it's tied to your investment with zero basis.  I don't really care what level in the forum I hold.  It has no correlation to my portfolio value  Grin Grin Grin

If you don't care about the ranks, don't worry, the merit will come, just wait and don't pay attention to it. Avoid posting in spammy megathreads and all be good Wink

It seems a lot of posters get merit for posting lengthy guides on crypto currency subjects.  Just keep trying to improve your post content and English skills.

It can be demotivating when you see people trade merits to friends and you see people that are obviously buying merit.

Good luck OP
It is simple! It only depends on the quality of the posts and that it is useful for the community, I can see that the measure is positive because I have seen in my short time with the signature that there are members who create very vague posts. It is also sad to think as you say that there are members who are buying their merits.

I feel you with that never-ending "Member" life... I finally made it over a 1/3 of the way there.. I'd be surprised if Member in some ways wasn't the hardest rank and where people with the new system are most likely of all ranks to get stuck.   Just keep at it, you'll get there eventually.. and until you're there.. "Members" are the kool kids club, didn't you hear? Smiley

Bitcointalk rules were changed. Now, you need activities+merit to upgrade your account. Then you need 100 merit to be a Full member. If you want to know more about this please read this Merit & new rank requirements official thread.

Merits like fish, you must be patient to get abundant hunting. Here are these tips:

 1. Stop posting in altcoins sections. [It’s Bitcointalk  Tongue]
 2. Download the white paper for Bitcoin or Ether, learn some programming languages and participate in technical discussions. [Even if you don't get merits, you will gain knowledge "which is much more important"]
 3. help others, work hard, and will rank up fast.

Personally, I believe the merit system is terrible, for anyone who doesn't come here to earn money spamming. I post helpful,
contributing posts, and rarely do I get rewarded with merit. There seems to be an odd balance, to what fits the criteria, of what
a meritable post is. Most of the higher ranked members, who have merit to give, tend to favor giving merit to extremely detailed
posts, or "one liner" replies they agree with. There's rarely an "inbetween".

Everyone always suggests, write about a Cryptocurrency topic, that is well thought out. However, realistically, there are only sooo
many topics to write about, before the posts become redundant, with borderline plagiarism. Eventually, we will be "bottle necked"
with posts, that meet the criteria of receiving merit.

So, while your trying to post to earn merit, look for a topic you're interested in, and do your best to find a original, fresh way to
present it. Goodluck!!!

As per the recent amendment of rules and membership criteria, one must have a sufficient number of merit points along with post count and activities. Thus you won't be able to gain high rank considering only the posts account, you will have to wait for your activity points as well as merit points to reach the minimum required amount as per the latest rules.

yes me too. It was left with 3 to 4 days for me to rank up till full member and the unfortunate merit system was introduce. By now, I would have been senior member now. Forget about rank update for now. Because it won't be easy for you to get 100 merit to upgrade.

You'll need merit points in order to rank up any further, 100 for full member. If you haven't already, read this: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/merit-new-rank-requirements-2818350
