Skein as algorithm is rather compelling for nvidia users but 5% premine seems too much.

The dev should do an airdrop or some sort of a new bounty campaign to distribute to coins more fairly. Right now we're getting less than 1000 blocks per day and half of them are coming from the dev's staking.
Can someone with a bit more knowledge have a look.

I think we should have no complain on only 5% premined, but block reward should be a bit more than 20, because of large total supply. BTW, seldom see coin implemented Skein algorithm, hope this coin will survive good.

BTPL master node already on our planning but before that lot of upcoming updated we are gona to make about the BTPL . we are going to initiate some activity from coming week .

pool is down.
Incase of lpool down then you can use Zpool for mining . however both pool working there is no issue i found .
