Well the safest wallet would be the hardware wallet.
Do you need to make a backup of the hardware wallet in case it breaks?

You can create the safest bitcoin wallet on your own without using any computer or internet connection.

Have a look at this video > https://youtu.be/z8b6sLDd158

It is time consuming but most secure.

As long as you hold the private keys and the wallet is offline, that is safe. But afterall, you are the one who must make it as safe. Even you hold your special keys and even using a hardware wallet, without safety precautions you will be wrecked.

I have just discovered Mycellium for IOS and it seems pretty good so far but I am not storing any large amounts of bitcoin on any of the online services.

You might want to be careful using Mycelium on iOS for the time being, a few users are reporting a bug

i guess the safest bitcoin wallet is offline wallets are stored on a computer that never connects to the network so they can't hacked.

I Agree with the others if you want long term storage where you won't be using your bitcoin for a while then go for a paper wallet, otherwise something like blockchain seems to be the most popular option, I have just discovered Mycellium for IOS and it seems pretty good so far but I am not storing any large amounts of bitcoin on any of the online services.

Blockchain is the best wallet. Blockchain has the best accessibility and faster confirmations in a less time with reduced transaction fee.

Yeah i agree with you, blockchain.info is the best imo. It's my first online bitcoin wallet and it's easy to acess, easy to use and transaction and also user friendly too.

Hey there every1 i wanna know how can i safely store 6.xx bitcoins of mine? Please don't recommend hardware wallet as they are waste of money as i ak sure there are some other safe bitcoin wallets.I want a wallet that is independent means even if some service shuts down i still have control of my bitcoins. Is blockchain.info wallet safe? As they say they always get our password in encrypted form.is that really true?is there service shuts down will i still have control over it?Please help me friends how can i backup my wallet and store it in say usb drive and store it somewhere safe.is that possible? or any other best bitcoin wallet? and yet don't recommend desktop wallets which can easily be affected by malware

Well the safest wallet would be the hardware wallet. It may take time to sync initially but your bitcoins will be in a safe hand.

For online wallet, you can try coinbase. It is quite old and trusted till now. Also no fees for the transaction. I am using this online wallet from a long time now and satisfied with the service and security.

paper wallet is the safest (if you make it the right way on a clean system) but they are not the most continent. because if you want to spend the balance of a paper wallet you will have a lot of problems because you have to find a new wallet, install and sweep then use them which can expose you to some threats.
You need an active wallet too, not 'just' paper. Make a dozen paper wallets, half a bitcoin each. If you need some money, swipe one with your phone and trash the paper.

I think the safest wallets are paper wallets because you are controlling them and no one can get them online or something.
Another fact is that a cold storage is also possible although I find it a bit too difficult for the most of us.

the best option is an offline wallet that you only sign tx and broadcast them another place.

Use coinbase but if you gamble then don't send your coins or receive your coins from your coinbase account.use blockchain as a third party.

Like Coinbase > blockchain > gambling site

and Gambling site > blockchain > coinbase

If you use any other site to keep your bitcoins safe like circle or etc always use blockchain as a third pary.

One Answer : BlockChain is the best

Definitely not the right answer, Blockchain is the least safe of all wallets. There are a lot of "horror stories" regarding it, with people losing their money, so yeah not the right answer at all. Electrum so far has not been hacked yet,so from desktop wallets remain the safest until it can be hacked.

Yes, that's right, the safest until it hacked. So in other words there is no 100% safe wallet and there can't be actually. Every computer can be hacked so my advice don't search for the safest wallet rather search for a convenient one.

Trezor is always safest hardware wallet - even if your computer get malware, your BTC wallet by itself will be safe.  Wink

Blockchain on the other hand do let you have keys but being a web wallet it is still more vulnerable to attacks.
I just opened a wallet at blockchain.info. They claim the private keys never leave my browser, and can not be stolen if their server were to be compromised.

tell me some reason why blockchain is the best?because i'm ever use that wallet, and now i'm use coinbase, and i think coinbase is far better than blockchain. not because blockchain is the first ever, then it was the best?

Both are not best, coinbase is a wallet service provider, they don't let you have the keys, so if for some reason the site is down, you can't use your funds. Blockchain on the other hand do let you have keys but being a web wallet it is still more vulnerable to attacks.

Blockchain wallet is not the best by any stretch of the imagination. In fact they have had networking issues for a while where people couldn't move their funds for extended periods of time and believe me it was really infuriating when you had the chance to buy some discounted thing online but you couldn't send coins because Blockchain was performing maintenance  Grin It was my first ever Bitcoin wallet though I must confess.

You can always go for a paper wallet... Secure, and costs almost nothing
Yeah, I'd say a paper wallet if you're looking for long-term storage.

I use Mycelium on my phone almost exclusively for my bitcoin and I'm happy with it.  I've used blockchain.info but as you mentioned, if they shut down you're screwed.  I'd stay away from wallets like Xapo for that reason, too.  Good luck to you, sir.

Electrum is good,  and would be safe if you had it on a computer with only electrum on it.
