Hello there,

Is this still on?

I am really into skills based games, and have been looking for one for a while.

I actually came to the idea of creating a Tetris based game independently... before I saw it here.
Another option could be the formerly popular 2048.

What do you guys think?

Cheers

I WROTE THAT IT COULD BE WEB BASED! LEAVE THE EXE PART OUT PLEASE!

I do like that people come up with ideas though, but the captcha is probably the minor problem Tongue

The bot problem could be solved by either a simple captcha, or simply clicking the mouse at a certain spot which after that is moved to another spot on the screen.

some coder are smart enough to code a bot that can bypass all captcha or whatsoever, but the idea is good anyway, greed is the essential problem, if someone think he can manipulate the game or whatsoever then he will thought of a way to do this
Register at https://countermail.com and look at their mous movement thing. Gotta be hard to break since it's the most famous mail with 2048 encryption? Something like that would work yes?

It depends on the captcha. There are some really bad ones out there, that even a human can't deal with.
Can you really code a bot to read this shit?

Somebody really has to come up with a skill based game, we need this Cheesy

that is a pretty bad captcha, it will be hard even for human to read that captcha, im interested in skill based game, with the right team, this could turn into a pretty great online gaming, it is finally a merge between bitcoin world and gaming world

You are right, I guess maybe some coders even has bots for input the correct captacha. I don't know am I right or wrong. Cheesy

yep i've seen few bots that are coded to bypass captcha anyway, so if a skill based game is developed, this would be abused , but luck based game is pretty much boring for an unlucky guy like me

I love tetris, I mean who doesn't. There are a lot of multiplayer tetris sites out there so here is what I am thinking;

You download a client (or it could be web based) where you can buy in at different stakes untill you get faced with an opponent.

The owner takes a fee the same way poker sites takes rake.

Different modes, Tetris attack, normal tetris (the one who lasts the longest wins), tetris with very fast raising levels etc.

Level up system to get more people hooked - you get progress on your level if you win or lose, but when you win you get more progress than when you lose.

These are just some suggestions comming up from the top of my head, will propably figure out more. If this happens I would like to be involved in some way Smiley

So you are making the tetris game ....
I never see tetris game using bitcoin so this is the only one.

I also think this game has 0% house edge because based game skilled & PVP and you gain the profit from transaction fee
Great game for who seek the skilled based game rather the house edge one

Well you have no idea who you are comming up against so it's a gamble.. There are a few skill based games here in gambling, which forum whould I post in? Did you even read my post about different stakes? $1 buyin, $5 buyin etc, you buyin where you feel safe - the leveling system could make it impossible for good players to buyin at $1.

PVP is a nice idea but it just wont work.

Having user levels and matching players for games based on that won't matter, people who are using bots will just create new accounts so they can play against new users.

There isn't a way to prevent this beside getting into an arms race which is ultimately futile.

The only way to make this work is as bitbaby suggested.

make it sort of like a slot game, you push in a quarter and play and win rewards by clearing levels.

But then if you go this route, look at the other sites that offer games of skill as gambling, most don't do so well.
Yeah you are right, the levels wont solve it people will find ways around it. I also liked babybit's idea, slot with skill, maybe you make 0.0000001 BTC per level cleared?

Right, tetris is not a fair gamble game, winners always wining, gamble games are lucky games. And most people won't like downloading exe files.
Which is why I said it also could be web based. Also if the web site looks good people download the client - take betcoin.ag for example many people have downloaded that poker client. The developers earn their money from the buyin fee that they take...

This is a good idea. There is certainly a need for games that involve more skill than just simple picking the numbers or cards. I'd love to see some games that allowed you to for example choose a score you'd like to bet on and pay if you reach it. Or games that allowed you to compete the same way you play a 1v1 match in any game. Both players would wager a certain amount of btc and the winner would take it all.

lol, what is poker then, all luck? Poker is a sport and you think it is based on lucky?
Gamble means to risk money for gain, has nothing to do with luck.

Tetris is a good game. Exe files are always suspicious so some web based stuff would be better. How you can get rid of bots? There are plenty of quites successful tetris bots around some of those with source code.

I think most people would not prefer to gamble with skilled based games but it could work out. Two things I would suggest you is, A.) make it web based only, with all the hacks going on people stay away from downloading programs from untrusted sources and B.) don't make it PvP, make it sort of like a slot game, you push in a quarter and play and win rewards by clearing levels.
