I don’t know whether it was proposed earlier or not, but I saw a similar idea in this topic.

Thanks for the reference, but I think this forum is some way away from having a button to include/exclude people directly from trust lists.
Until we have a a shortcut in profile settings, I don't see it happening in a hurry.

On a side note LoyceV is planning on adjusting the wording on their custom trust list viewer to try and clarify the meaning behind inclusions and exclusions.
Sample:
Don't confuse your Trust list with Feedback though:
  • Feedback: people you trust (or don't trust: red)
  • Trust list: people who's judgement on others you trust (or don't trust: ~)

But I'd also like to see custom Trust lists promoted the way the April Fools joke was promoted on top of each page. That would be a good way to reach many users who haven't created their own Trust list yet. Currently, only a handful of people create their first Trust list each week, and most users have never edited it at all.

As long as it's on the user's Trust page then I think it's fine.
Agreed!

It also wouldn't hurt if we could see how someone has voted (supported/opposed) on flags (others have raised this elsewhere previously).
See Personal Trust Flag viewer for malevolent (although I agree it's not ideal this isn't shown anywhere on the forum).

I just realized that it doesn't show on the feedback page as left, in the same way that created flags do. I would like to see that changed, to include supported and opposed flags it is after all a form of feedback. In the meantime there's this LoyceV's (Personal) Trust Flag viewer [daily updates]

Making it easier to add other users to a Trust list without visiting said users' Trust pages will result in people adding users without ever having looked into the Trust ratings or flags they post.
This part is interesting, perhaps the button should be located on the Trust Page. Then they will have had to at least looked at it. Similar to the FLag system the re could be a little something like "You should Add and Exclude users based on their judgement in matters of : Feedback, Flag support, "

The second part is unfortunately still an old by-product of the system and hasn't changed. It was evident by how many veteran members still had "shitty" lists when trust changes took effect. The forum isn't taking active steps yet to promote the intended/proper use of this system to veterans or newbies alike. People using this function even improperly, would generate a discussion around it which tends to draw others in and disperse the knowledge somewhat.

It's also likely to confuse many users into thinking they're supposed to be adding people they trust (or whose posts they agree with...) to their Trust lists.

I don't think it was suggested anywhere that this was going to tie into because they like someones posts. It could be said that they could be adding a user in the same fashion right now, but with a larger margin for error. The idea behind this was to take away the possible human error of mistyping a username when trying to place them in your list (+/~). It could also promote Custom Trust Lists, by making it easier for users to use and experiment with.

It is still open to the same perceived misuse as the current system. Just a more user friendly option.

Edit: Went back and I had this in a bit better detail.
The idea behind this was originally spawned when I read a topic LoyceV created about adding the wrong user by mistake due to a typo or similar account name.

What I would like in theory would be a "button" to add or exclude a member from your custom trust list. It would be on everyone's profile, so that to perform those actions you just have to find the proper profile and select it. Each button would come up with a little box with a small explanation of what each action does. The description could also have a link to appropriate information sources on trust,DT, or anything else deemed relevant to the overall system.
Would it be illogical if we have such button for everyone to just push/click it without even understanding what it’s purpose? Since they don’t know exactly what is it, they will just be founding on what the user is saying and just click that button
It very well could wind up being misused/abused this way. In reality though the current system can/does get used this way, it's just a little more difficult to do. The reality is though any users using it in that fashion will find themselves excluded by other DT members for having a flimsy/poor trust network.

Edit: Forgot to mention the above italicized exclude, came from LFC_Bitcoins post above.

I'm not sure if this is the best idea. Users are supposed to be adding to their Trust lists people on whose ratings they can rely on, not whose posts they like or agree with.

It's always nice when you see others have that same idea. The more people that ask for it the more likely it is to be seen as a positive addition, never know what changes theymos will introduce so visibility is always nice. I like the idea of having it in a users profile, and I think I said something about having a pop-up like " You are including/excluding this user. Do you wish to proceed?"

<...> I think it's a good idea, but I would pefer see it on the profile page rather than beside every single post. I've been known to accidentally click on links, particularly on mobile, and wouldn't want to accidentally add or exclude someone from my trust list without realizing I had done it. <...>
I suppose that if the forum used more modern functionality, then options "+ Add" / "~ Exclude" a forum member from the trust list could be shown in the drop-down menu when clicking on the "Trust" link or on the user's nickname.

<...> Unfortunately there has been no response from the admins. A shame really, since it would be a good way to promote individual trust lists.
This innovation needs for the forum's development in my opinion, and it would be consistent with the principles of decentralization.

Was suggested initially by Steamtyme then again by LoyceV back in February: Feature request: Show an "Add to Trust list"-button on each profile page

I think it's a good idea, but I would pefer see it on the profile page rather than beside every single post. I've been known to accidentally click on links, particularly on mobile, and wouldn't want to accidentally add or exclude someone from my trust list without realizing I had done it.

Might also be handy to have an indication on each profile page of whether the user is currently included, excluded, or neither from your list, along with a third option of "Remove from trust list", in addition to the "Add" and "Exclude" you have suggested.

Unfortunately there has been no response from the admins. A shame really, since it would be a good way to promote individual trust lists.

Two buttons could be added into place under the avatar:

Add to the trust list
Exclude from the trust list

This is how it might look:

I believe that such function may come in handy, since the majority of members probably don't want to be bothered with the custom trust settings.

I don’t know whether it was proposed earlier or not, but I saw a similar idea in this topic.
