The paper is legit but the scientist arent saying we will see a super volcano eruption.
There could be an eruption if their model - based on magma–hydrothermal interactions, which is still not clearly understood - is correct.
However, the temporal evolution of volcanic unrests often exhibits complex, nonlinear behaviour, such as in the case of the Yellowstone caldera, where an initial exponential/power-law acceleration of ground uplift during 2004–2008 was followed by a deceleration61 (Fig. 7). A pausing of ground uplift occurred at CFc between 1982–1984 and 2005. Caution is therefore prudent when forecasting the future mid- to short-term evolution of any period of unrest. Even if the magma underneath CFc is likely to be approaching the CDP, the possible future scenarios can be complicated by additional processes that have not been considered here. For example, increases in the melt liquidus due to H2O release and consequent magma crystallization could increase the melt viscosity, and therefore act against further magma migration. Additional careful scrutiny of monitoring data in the coming months and years is key to interpreting whether hydrothermal heating or magma quenching will prevail.
But if their model is correct their could be a big boom in less then one decade.
