I stand with Ukraine.

Exactly. Imo, the minimum price BTC can crash to is $2k, because, with the exception of 2011, when Bitcoin price was extremely volatile, it has never dropped to under 1/10 of the previous ATH. Also, I think we already had our minimum after the previous ATH, $3,200 in December 2018, and I don't think we can go that low again, ever.

REALLY, REALLY Bad assumptions...   Time will either prove you right or wrong, just remember this and come back and look at what you said next year.  Either you, or I will learn an important and expensive lesson   Grin Grin Grin

Hard Facts

What do you mean, "bad assumptions"? You think BTC can go lower than $3,200? When? A year from now, six months? What makes you think so?

You see, most people participated in your poll, voted for $3,000, and that's because they see $3k as something already impossible, let alone lower prices. I personally voted for $1,000 because, according to my theory, only if Bitcoin will go below 1/10 of its previous ATH, or, below $2,000, the situation will become frightening.

But right now Bitcoin is doing well, actually. We are 131% up from January 2019.

Thinking about the price when to stop spending money to invest in bitcoin is somehow not supported by any strong foundation to consider. What I mean is that, investing in bitcoin is beyond the mindset of a person whether to buy more or less. If we buy allot, we will earn depending if we sell it the right way, on the other hand, if we buy less, less profit we could get no matter how right we sell it. Thus, leading us to conclusion that buying bitcoin is better if we accumulate a large volume of it, and probably to have no limit to stop investing because it creates demand that makes people's market price higher.

I do not think it is practically possible to Bitcoin to reach $0.01.

But, it can reach a price range of $3000 to $3500. At this range I eill stop investing and wait for the market to recover.

I do not think it will ever go to that range but, anything can happen here.

In my opinion, lowering the price of bitcoin, if something terrible for bitcoin has not happened, is not an obstacle to investing in it. Most likely, there would be a problem for investing if Bitcoin rose very much in price. I mean somewhere over $ 30,000. Big price - big risk.

The fact is that every bitcoin has experienced a significant price drop, a large buying flow always appears, and vice versa. But what needs to be seen is how much the strength of the volume of transactions that always prevents prices from returning to zero, history always shows a long-term progressive increase and is unlikely to return at $ 3,000 in line with increasing speculators' interest.

I just noticed the choices and think about why the highest amount of possible option is only 3k dollars but it turns out to be in reality, we stop investing in bitcoin we perceive that the market is quite high enough and isn't good for entry.

You are correct, BUT...

What I am looking for here is when people will stop investing our get out of Bitcoin out of fear that the price will go towards zero.   If the price goes higher, then we do not have to worry about getting out due to fear of even bigger losses.

Let's be honest that we can't keep investing in bitcoin if everyone's trying to stop it. Because it will just become our losses. Not exactly with the price but maybe when I can feel that it is not doing well and that bitcoin might not be able to recover. That might happen if most governments will try to stop Bitcoin. What I am trying to say that, I'd be looking at different factors and think if investing in bitcoin will be worth it or now. But I do believe that Bitcoin won't just easily crash like that.

For me, if bitcoin goes below $ 3,000, I will stop investing. But for many people, if bitcoin can still make a profit, it doesn't matter which investment is invested unless it's worthless.

Thinking about right now, for me 8k dollar is quite high and would be considered the price for me to stop investing more money into bitcoin. Original Poster, if I am not mistaken, people stop investing in high market price, though it is possible that they stop in low market price because of a lost trust, but it is likely that they will apply the basics of stocks to earn profit here.

If I were the one who didn't have a lot of money the decision to stop buying was when I had lost the money worth losing, but for $ 3000 then maybe a lot of people would stop buying or selling it all but it was an opportunity to who know what to capture and buy back at that price.

$8K has been my no more buying limit for now. This may change in the future but I made some good profit with this formula in the last 6 months. I buy below $8K and sell above $10K. I take 25% of my total savings from monthly salary and convert them to bitcoin and when I sell them, it directly goes to my saving and the new bitcoins are bought again with former formula.

Good for you! That's a great approach. If I had 25% of my monthly payment as spare money, I'd probably do the same. Looking at current charts I assume you'll be selling soon. Smiley

~ But if I HAD significant amounts of additional money like say, if I won a huge lottery?

You bet I'm investing significantly into BTC, at whatever the price. OK, maybe NOT if BTC were in the midst of an ATH... But 100% for sure if it were $3k or $100.

I voted for $1 though.

Most of us here don't have significant amounts for buying BTC and then, possibly, waiting years for profits. But, like you said, in case of winning a jackpot we find ourselves in a different situation. I'd invest 50% of my winnings in BTC at any price, but, of course not during another ATH, meaning that I wouldn't invest if BTC was above $50k this year. But who knows, maybe in 2 years we'll be looking at $50k as we are looking at $3k today.

The movement of the Bitcoin price poses enormous risks. People can complain about this. No problem if the bitcoin price goes up. BUT the bitcoin price goes down badly. These movements offer a chance to make money.

At what price would you guys stop putting SIGNIFICANT amounts of additional money into purchasing Bitcoin Huh   I am not talking about small investments that you do not care about losing, but stop investing significant amounts of your financial assets that you can not afford to lose.

I am NOT asking if you believe Bitcoin will go down to these prices !!!    I know you guys will say the prices will never get that low, and that you would never sell your bitcoin.. .  OK we understand that  😁     BUT, any rational, intelligent investor will have a price point at which they would stop putting significant additional amounts of money into a particular investment.   Think it over carefully and give us your best, most honest answer.

OK, $3k is way too "high" for most people. And I believe I'm most people because I'm really into cost averaging. We don't have time to speculate, don't have time to time the market (OK I admit it, I do try and time, but it's more a hastening or delay of a week or a few weeks at best), and really we need a day job and have predictable, frequent, regular bills and expenses to pay.

So we really are just setting aside savings in Bitcoin. Some go all in, others like me choose to still keep some in fiat (insured by the bank and state, for what those are worth). But if I HAD significant amounts of additional money like say, if I won a huge lottery?

You bet I'm investing significantly into BTC, at whatever the price. OK, maybe NOT if BTC were in the midst of an ATH... But 100% for sure if it were $3k or $100.

It's really hard to say. On one hand, it seems like if Bitcoin went below $1k it would be something like a catastrophe. Yet, on the other hand, I think people who invested money in BTC in the mid of 2015, when it went below $200, were more than happy later. I personally believe that Bitcoin is here to stay for a long time, and, considering its scarcity, we can hope that the price will rise to $150k-$200k in the future. So, if the price were $0.01 I would buy 500 BTC at least, just in case, you know. Smiley But, because of the above mentioned scarcity, this will hardly ever happen. Dozens of millions of people are now ready to start accumulating when the price is "low enough", and the level they consider "low" is much higher than $0.01. And I don't mean Bitcoin enthusiasts, I mean regular folks, who remember the $20k. These people alone will not allow BTC to go down too much.

Personally if I invested into Bitcoin, the more the price of it goes down the more money I will put. That is how I trust Bitcoin and I know that others will do the same too.

You are investing EMOTIONALLY, which is a very good way to lose your money  Cry Cry Cry  Remember the warnings, and do not blame anything but your own stupidity when your investment is gone.

The only good way to invest is based on facts, not on wishful thinking, or what you want to be true...

I strongly believe in bitcoin and blockchain technology will be the future of the world....

THIS IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST MISTAKES PEOPLE HERE MAKE...

Bitcoin is NOT, NOT, NOT the blockchain....  Just because blockchain might be the future of the world, that does not mean bitcoin will have any special relevance.  An INFINITE number of crypto currencies can use the blockchain.

Bitcoin is no more the blockchain than the first cellphone is the cellular network.   Is the first cellphone to use the cellular network the best, most expensive, and most sought after Huh    How about the first computer to use the internet, still the most valuable Huh

It is utter stupidity 🙈🙈🙈 to assume that just because Blockchain will be the future, that it will give Bitcoin some special value.

Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks
This may sound weird or unbelievable but all throughout my cryptocurrency experience, I only invested 20$ into cryptocurrency and that is at February 2018 (we know what is the movement of Bitcoin at that time right Cheesy).

My first and last investment (fiat) into crypto got lost because the price continues to decline at that time (2018). All of the funds I got from crypto, I got it from different campaigns I'm either reinvesting or holding what I'm getting into it.

Personally if I invested into Bitcoin, the more the price of it goes down the more money I will put. That is how I trust Bitcoin and I know that others will do the same too.
