Coinbase does not support Bitcoin Atom.  How do I do this?  And, since the coins are in their wallet, they have the only access to the keys.

Yeah I read your post as coinomi for some reason. You would need to move your coins to a supported wallet before the fork. Or wait till after the fork and then get your private key and import that to a wallet that supports atom.

No idea how you get the private key from coinbase but I'm sure someone else will be able to help with that part. The good news is that there is no rush for it, you will be able to do it recursively. As long as you own bitcoin at the fork and you can get the private keys for the wallet they are in then you can do this any time after the fork.

Right, but Coinbase is the only one that has the keys at the fork.  How do I get it from them?

It's very unlikely or basically impossible they would do so. You will need to transfer your btc in order to claim bca

Agreed, but most newbies don't realize in order to be safe they need to transfer their BTC OUT into a new wallet.
how can i do that? it is my first fork
Wait for the fork then send your BTC to a new wallet of your choosing. This way your BTC will be safe
Then sweep your private keys into coinomi for the addresses that contained BTC at the time of the fork.
Voila! Your forked coins should be available on your coinomi wallet.

Can someone tell me if I have to move Bitcoin to Yobit or Coinomi or other partner or exchange listed on the website to get the BCA ?

No, you don't have to do anything. All you need is private keys for your BTC address(es). After the fork you can decide what to do.

I asked the same question earlier tonight, read the last couple pages to see the replies.

Short tell: the consensus is no, you don't. But to move the BCA after the hard fork, you'll need an Atom exchange and wallet.
but I'm a newb so don't trust me, read the last couple pages for what the experienced folks say.

You SHOULD move your BTC BEFORE doing anything with your BCA.

"If you intend to claim BCA through Coinomi, please make sure you keep your $BTC inside your Coinomi wallet at block #505888 in order to receive your FREE $BCA coins as soon as Bitcoin Atom wallets get activated inside Coinomi."
