I may write code in exchange for bitcoins.
Rather than just having more freerolls for active play, consider doing something like FTP's Iron Man was. That was excellent at getting action onto the tables on an everyday basis.

Completely agree on this: having a daily reason to play some poker is the best option imho

I'm not familiar with this.  Is FTP Iron Man a points system? a rakeback system? what is/was it?

SWC is clearly gonna get a lot of their action back as soon as they are providing a more universal access option (assuming that it doesn't take so long that the hype dies down.  IMO, a little wait builds hype, but too much wait and people move on).

Had some lag earlier and timed out in just a few seconds ("sitting out" > folded hand on turn.) Obviously had a good hand and would get some chips in this DeepTurbo thing. I cannot really believe that 1 minute timebank isn't automatically used when u get disconnected or something. This was like high priority on seals to-do's list. Can this be made on the new client? Yes, this.  I always made sure I played just enough to get Iron every month, always checking that calendar too.  It was just the right amount of play for me to shoot for after work, and allowed for a few days off a month.

EDIT: Its been randomly happing all day. But I do have a question so I don't have to go through all the posts. What's "Krill"? It is some sort of rewards system? I notice it raising with the amounts I'm betting not sure if it does only if I win. That's why I'm asking. What are the Krill used for? I'm new to SWC sort of. I've tried it in the past and for maybe 1 day or so, but that's all.

Yes, Krill is part of the rewards system.  They're like frequent player points that you earn while playing.

As you play games that take a rake, you earn more Krill.  You don't have to win the hand.

The exact formula for Krill is:

Quote
Each player dealt in to a raked ring game hand will receive Krill based on the following calculation: √(rake) multiplied by (5 / players dealt) then multiplied by any other bonus factor currently in effect and finally rounded down to the nearest tenth of a Krill.

For MTTs, the Krill earning calculation is: squareroot(entry fee) rounded down to the tenths place and multiplied by 2.

As you earn Krill you move up in levels, which are used to determine rakeback and entry in to freerolls ("Krillrolls")

The first level is reached at 500 and also allows you to change your chat color.

Your Krill lasts forever and doesn't reset or go down.  You don't have to "spend" the Krill to get the benefits offered.

Is SWC still down from earlier? I just tried to log in and I could not.

We are having some issues right now, should have it solved in minutes.

Tomorrow the situation improves drastically.

Did something just happen again? I was at a table and got disconnected.

2)  I'm not worried about the % rakeback on another site.  SwC's rake starts so low & we give so much back in our own unique way, I'll concentrate on making our system something interesting & rewarding.

Sounds good.  Let me know when you have your interesting/rewarding system in place so that you are competitive in the marketplace and I'll check it out.

1)  Yepimnaked - obviously hit me up for affiliate, get even more selfish Smiley   I encourage that, it helps the site and motivates you to twitch moar

3)  I'm thinking 2 kinds of krillrolls, the must have earned in last X period and lifetime.  I think there is room for both.

2) krillrolls are coming back after stability is achieved.   If we have an unexpected outage, we need to look 1 or 2 hands of each cash game.  If we are running many MTTs, it can be a much different shitstorm for us.  I'm going to bring them back, you have my word, but I must first build a site that achieves proper stability.  The old krillroll schedule was super-player friendly and as many have brought up the fact that it rewarded lifetime play more than recent play.  I'm going to think deeply about them before bringing them back, I want to design a system that is fair to who is currently pounding the site and never forgetting the guys that helped make us and have the big krill.  Also, the krill program will get deeper and more interesting after a few months of client building and stability hardening.

You should consider revamping the whole system.  Right now if a newer player grinds on your site hardcore they can hope to get what...2% rakeback after a couple of weeks?  That's pretty worthless.  On your competitor, you can get 60% off the top and within a week or two of grinding have 70-75%.  The way your system is now, it rewards players who played years ago when coins were worthless and gives current players the shaft.

The solution is very simple:

1. Have worthwhile krillrolls

2. Have those krillrolls be for people who earned X amount of krill over the previous week/month

You'll instantly add players to your site and the players who are already on the site will be inspired to play more.  Even if you only add three MTTs/wk (10krill/wk, 100krill/wk, 1000krill/wk) that's only three tournaments to look at if/when the site crashes.  And if you run them at different times, it would only be one additional MTT to look at if/when the site crashes.  Not a shitstorm at all.  There's no reason why this can't be implemented tomorrow with you just manually registering people who qualify next week.

Hey Natmccoy, I have also started twitch streaming my play on SwCPoker.  I didn't realize there was anyone else doing it on a regular basis.  I will definitely tune in for your stream this weekend!  I'm new to twitch, but have had a blast so far.  I play all of the games (mostly draw and mixed games) and have found people to be interested even with my limited number of viewers.  I'll be live today at 9PM EST.  Feel free to stop in, say hello, and request a song or two!  twitch.tv/yepimnaked   I'll refer my viewers to check your stream out this weekend.  Do you have a set time/date yet?

Affiliate program?  Seems interesting.  Not sure if I'm there quite yet, as my reasons for promoting the site are purely selfish.  More players means more action!

Also they really should open up their affiliate program to all users, as you can see from my signature that is standard for other cryptopoker sites.

I do think affiliates can play a big role.  But what we really need is not the type of affiliate who is going to stick a link in their signature on a bitcoin site, but one who will actively recruit players who have never used bitcoin at all.  They can hand-hold their players through the process of getting set up with an exchange, setting up an intermediary wallet and backing it up, and the ins and outs of safely moving bitcoins around.  This is a tougher sell than the old days of hand-holding people through the process of getting Neteller and connecting it to their bank accounts to deposit on Party Poker circa 2004, so it needs to be more rewarding for the affiliate.  More ambitious affiliates can sell bitcoins directly to their players, and take a little commission there.  This would be a good way for a winning player to make some money on the side and convert their excess bitcoin to cash without going through an exchange.

You are right, people need that to really make sure they get started & that's exactly what I do when streaming poker on twitch  Smiley. It's a great platform because you can literally show them on the screen in real time what to do, post links in the chat, and verbally explain things. There are lots of U.S. viewers who just assumed they can't play in the U.S. since black friday or have heard about people waiting months for withdrawal checks from Carbon.  I don't sell them bitcoin though, just suggest that they use Circle.

Edit in response to Micon: Yes you've said from the beginning of swcpoker that you'd understand if people wait until connectivity is fixed, you've had the best possible attitude about everything.

I'm curious to see what the community thinks of the krillrolls being based on lifetime or a rolling time period or some kind of combination of the two. I think you're right that a balance of the two could be optimal. I love the sound of "deeper and more interesting", very exciting!

I don't know why I didn't think of e-mailing you guys about the affiliate program, I'll do that soon. Thinking of doing a nano-stakes pOFC instructional stream this weekend, should get plenty of viewers as people are interested in seeing something other than hold'em or PLO on Twitch.

...will return to the NL200+ mBTC games on SWC once the krillrolls are back and connectivity issues are no more.

... Waiting for the krillrolls though because that's a big part of the VIP program.

... they really should open up their affiliate program to all users

1) totally valid to wait until you observe a long period of stability to return.  No arguments, today's SwC has connection issues.  We are applying a very big fix to this tomorrow.  Wait and see how it goes, I'm confident within a few weeks we will have a reputation of being stable.

3) Anyone can apply for the affiliate program!  Just email me your username [email protected] and give me your marketing plan (A signature link is a fine plan if I like your account, natmccoy you totally qualify) I insert this step so I can see exactly who is marketing SwC.  I care deeply about this brand and won't have it marketed in an evil way.

with all the new poker sites popping up for bitcoin, 10-30 weeks could be way to long. I think you are always gonna have the die hard seals but if they dont get their player base back soon, imo many players will move on. I like others, am just waiting for everything to get fixed up before i return to swc daily or even weekly.

Is there any ETA to have old good krillkrolls back?

+100

Asked this a couple pages ago and didn't get a response. I've been playing at betcoin since sealswithclubs shut down & will return to the NL200+ mBTC games on SWC once the krillrolls are back and connectivity issues are no more.

Waiting for the krillrolls though because that's a big part of the VIP program. I started calculating the monthly return of obtaining each level based on krillroll frequency per month * prize pool / number of entries, but then the site moved and krillrolls were put on hold.

Also they really should open up their affiliate program to all users, as you can see from my signature that is standard for other cryptopoker sites.

There are tons of us waiting to jump back in as soon as they get a proper client going and whatnot.  They know the issues.  Only windows people can play at the moment.  Micon says a few posts back that we're up in 10 - 30 weeks!

@Micon: Don't worry, I won't forget about you in 30 weeks man!
