Nice...good to know.  I have a few additional questions.

     1)  Will my HM2 or PT3 software be compatible there?

     2)  In you're honest opinion, is the player field soft or is everybody playing there a shark? (I'm not
particularly a "bum hunter" but hey, that's poker)

I'll visit the site and answer the rest on my questions on own....do you have an affiliate link?

Hi Cjmoles,

Come check SwC out!  It's true, traffic isn't the greatest sometimes, but you can play all of the mixed games, OFC, etc, which isn't available on any other sites for US players. There are a lot of friendly people there and some interesting characters as well. No one can use huds and there are plenty of casual players, so the games aren't that tough. Hope to see you there!

Never been able to get your software to work. Fails on 2 of my windows 7 virtual machines and fails with wine. Is there some .net library I'm missing or something? no errors, just no games ever populate and it says 'trying' in the lower left corner.

FWIW, they sorta shouted at me and NLNico for even hoping to get it running on WINE.  Not sure why, but they told us in no uncertain terms "It will not work on WINE!".  I sorta intepreted that as that they were taking active steps to ensure it doesn't work on WINE.  I don't know why that would be the case, but it's the impression I got.
Lol :p TBH to me it felt more like a "we know some libraries that we use don't work with wine, so no need to waste your time on it, maybe we will change in future." Tongue

Okay, yah, I may have misinterpreted the tone.  Still, if they know some libraries they use don't work with wine, why not reply to a technical question like "I'm getting this SSL error" with something like "we use libwinbrokenssl, which is known not to work with wine, sorry."

Anywhoo...

To my knowledge there is no HUD software that works with their software (not even FPDB).

It honestly depends on your personal skill level/style of play as to how you'll find the player base but honestly...everyone is horrible.  That's not a bad thing, it's a bunch of recreational players looking to have fun.  But if you are concerned about the level of play...it's very low.

It works fine for me w/ VirtualBox - clean Win install. Did you set your VM network adapter on "Bridged adapter"? 99% sure it's just that setting Wink

Wow....thought seals was a goner!  I'm new to this thread but I loves me some poker, especially some bitcoin poker!   I have a few questions:

     1) What's the size of the player pool here?

Small.  150-200 players online at any one time, maybe peaking at 250-275 on Sunday.

Quote
     2) Are there any problems with US players participating?

No.

Quote
 3) Are there any professional players endorsing the brand?

No.

Quote
 4) Is Bryon Micon still involved?

By order of law, no.

Quote
5)  Are there any special promotions for participation?

They run a weekly LB but unless you grind around the clock at decent stakes you'll never get on it.  On Tuesdays and Fridays they run a tournament that's basically guarenteed to overlay (5 chip buy in, 500 chip guarantee) for anyone with an account with over 1250 of their frequent player points (easily obtainable in a couple of weeks of occasional play).  They also have weekly 1BTC freerolls for people with over 1250 points.

So, no you won't get anything free just for signing up but if you actually play on the site there are some decent rewards.

Well I think getting software running on wine isn't always something that automatically just works. Although both stars and tilt work pretty good on ubuntu for me. But given it doesn't work on my virtual machines I use for photoshop and testing sites on IE browsers, they could have added some anti-bot measures that are screwing up my fun.

A bit frustrating since anyone who could write a winning bot could probably also get around whatever VM checks they do or bypass it entirely by splitting the video output and scraping it. I investigated the poker bot scene after some big allegations about small stakes PLO on pokerstars and there are some clever people out there. One kid was reverse engineering his wireless mouse so he could replicate the signal from another device... crazy shit.

But if it makes ya feel safer preventing me from playing microstakes on my linux desktop fine.

I missed this one. Are you planning to do more? And what's your channel?

Hi, I usually stream on here once or twice every week, depending on how the mood strikes me.  If you follow me on twitter, I try to send out advance notice (@DouglasMcGrew).  My twitch is www.twitch.tv/yepimnaked

Hope to see you there some time!

Ah, sadly, I don't follow Twitter much. If you do a post here I should know, though. If you don't do a lot of random streams I can also just follow you on Twitch for updates, Smiley.

Join the world-leading crypto sportsbook NOW!
I have a 180k krill account that I would sell for 1.6 btc. Next week there is 5btc freeroll that should have under 20 people in it. There is also a 3 btc freeroll that should have a small field also.  This could be a good deal for someone that can play in the freerolls and can use the extra rakeback.

Everyone wants SWC available on more platforms, the more people playing the more money everyone makes.  Yes it's annoying/bad that whoever is currently running SWC doesn't provide timely updates, but don't you think a better idea would be to say "hey it's been _____ months since the last update regarding porting SWC to other platforms, could we please have an update with an updates timeline?"  If they won't answer that, they certainly won't answer you tantruming about being raped by software and you come across as a more rational human.

DarkDays: thanks for the suggestion:

SWCPoker: hey it's been _____ months since the last update regarding porting SWC to other platforms, could we please have an update with an updates timeline?

I guess I'm just gonna bump this.  It's been up for a week without any reply.

I see there's a new 50 chip MTT tonight, hopefully it'll get some action.

In addition to my satellite suggestion, how about adding a 12 game mix MTT on?  You can replace the 100 BigO8 with a 20-30 chip 12game MTT and it'll probably be one of the most well attended tournaments on the schedule.

I would like to see other type of Poker tournaments and Sit n GOs. Ca you add Poker knockout tournaments and sit n gos to the room?

There's a knockout that runs daily and tons of SNGs offered.  The only problem is that few people are playing them.

The issue with KO tournaments is it helps promote donkey play (i.e., "I will take this risk because if I happen to win, I get a bounty"). That's how it is on most sites at least. Does the same happen here?

Well, MTTs with a high % of the prize pool allocated for bounties do have a lot looser of play, but a lot of that is supported by basic math.  Also, why do you not want other people to play "like donkeys"?  That's what makes the games good!

But to your question, my experience playing that tournament is that people are slightly loose but it's not anything drastic.  Everyone is still pretty much horrible in other ways.

Donkeys get lucky too. There's no fun in someone who just goes all-in all the time -- especially when they wipe out an entire table because they got lucky on a hit. Best case scenario is they keep building a chip stack while everyone folds, giving them a strategic advantage.

If you think it's the best case scenario you are admitting it's the best tactic to use in this tourney: then just do it yourself  Wink

It's a high-risk, high-reward scenario for everyone involved. I'm not that big of a risk taker. But yes, I've seen it successfully work many times, as has everyone else. No different than going all-in with AA and being beat by 2/7 OS that hits full house.
