What was the pool that makes your miners freak out?

My plug'n'pray device is on it's way

Do we get pictures and a cake when it arrives? Smiley

No, but you get the prize for selfish smartarse.
Also..don't you find it interesting that Orama said after a chat with support (As he was sitting next to them) that Avenger was full of shit and didn't have an order? Me, I call that more than interesting. And less than honest.

Buy yourself a cake. and try and STFU if you can't empathise with those who have had a raw deal. Could have been you, shame it wasn't. IMO

do you need to run enablecores.bin on .97, not sure? Anyone?

as long as you have already run enablecore.bin at least once and/or flashed 0.96 at least once you should not need to run it.

/etc/init.d/cgminer.sh before starting cgminer go through all the cores and enable them.

I don't rember where (and I don't have time know to look up for the post, pardom me if you can) but I read that one of the first fw (0.90 maybe) wrote the map of bad core on asic eprom and there was no way to overwrite it at runtime. that's the reason why knc release enablecore.bin.

If it doesn't work out, here's how to roll back per KNC:

For those that experience degradation with 0.97 we recommend the following steps until improved firmware is available:

Revert to firmware 0.95,
Make a hard reset (see manual)
Ensure poolsettings are correct.
Apply patch “enableallcores” found on the support page.
Restart CGMiner

Please also check the following:
Pool address and ports correct in mining settings
Miners have a high quality internet connection that does not cut off.

Test the miner

i ended up doing a factory reset of a miner...got everything programmed back in, but cgminer says config file failed to load....bad option?
nevermind...I just got it going
no I didnt....said hashing at 18gh/s with bad credentials, when I know they are right

How fast will KFCMiner do RMA?

However long it takes to ship to them + 1 day of testing  + shipping back. Realistically, it's around 4-5 days.

you unscrew & peel off fan from CPU and send board?

Yep. Torx #15 (IIRC) + philips #1 and then the heatsink comes right off the chip. Send in the entire chip/board w/o the heatsink in a static bag if you have one.

Firmware 0.97 is better than 0.96 which is better than 0.95 and so on. Good job KnC!

Hmm i praised the 0.97 firmware, but now i have to change my statement. For me the 0.97 firmware had better speed in cgminer, but in the pool i had lower speed. Changed it back cu 0.96 and now in the pool i get close results as in cgminer. So be sure to check both.

Good luck with that.  I am a day 1 order 454 with a unit I can't use.  I can't get in touch with KNC.. have left messages on their voicemail.  Nothing.  I have been able to hash for 4 days with a day 1 order that showed up on day 4.

seems like you box has same 20% HW error rate as my saturn....it is firmware related i believe, then again, i don't know diddly.
