Are you speaking about mining? If so, I believe that Ether is better than other Altcoins.  Here’s why: 1) The switch to POS (proof of stake) is near. Meaning that soon it would be impossible to mine Ethers as we do now. So better mine, while we can. 2) I believe that after POS, Ether exchange rate will rocket up. So, your mined Ethers will eventually give you great profits.
Let me tell you a cool story: "POS" rocket story dev's are promising noobs since 2013; nothing will happen if the coin goes POS. miners will stop mining it = interest goes away= investors will leave = coin stays +- same value or dies
Ethereum is just a hypecoin like all the rest in the past.
Only bitcoin will survive after the big crash that is coming.

After the crash most miners will leave and sell their rig => Btc will rise again after some time
=> New minable coins will come and the circle begins again

Just mine and sell, wait for new coin with high value, go to next

Hi,

I think the current ETH difficulty increase and price drop is making some people (including me) thinking about switch to mine (GPU) an other coin instead of ETH.

Which one(s) would you suggest to being more profit now?

I know, that there are calculators, but I know only my ETH hashrate (which is nearly 200 MH/s with 8 x NVIDIA 1060). How can I convert 200 MH/s into hashrates for other coins?
Or what you think it would be and which coin would you suggest for GPU mining?

Whattomine is your best bet to get a feel for which coin to mine and will give you an estimate of the hashrate for each algorithm. It's generic, but relatively accurate. Generally speaking, and depending on your hardware, ETH will come on top based on current price, difficulty etc.

That said, ETH, ETC, ZEC and monero are good alternatives. Monero is actually a pretty stable no-fuss coin that also draws a lot less power. Its price fluctuates, but not as hard as others.

Will ETC also go POS soon?

No. At least, not yet. They said that if PoS is successful for ETH, they might consider it, but for the time being ETC will remain PoW.

I don't know, so I switch from ETH/ZEC to nicehash Roll Eyes.

whattomine say that zencash is the most profitable now with he recent drop, so mine that, ETH is a no go, after the diff will go boom, there will be no profit there, equihash is a better algo, to bad you can't dual mine with that, like with ETH

How to generate wallet for zencash? I tried it through Bittrex; however, their zencash wallet has been inactive since early June 2017 (few days after hard fork).

use another exchange or wait until they fix the maintenance status, or download the local wallet

Nexus and Spreadcoin are good for nVidia but you need to learn how to mine without a pool. Check sp thread )))

not that hard, just do this config, rpcallowip=1270.0.0.1, rpcuser= user, rpcpassword= password, rpcport= you choose here, server =1

You should try Winminer and run  benchmark. It will tell you the best algorithm and coin for your GPU/CPU .

There are no secret coins. Most new coins these days are ICO / POS, you can't mine those.

Switching software   flattens out prices a lot.

Right now profits are simply low.  After August  the rally or true crash will come. For now mine zc and eth and pray

There is no secret coin out there. Profitability went down for everything pretty much.

There are secret coins... but they are temporary.  You have to move quickly.

Noob question: Where i can learn more about this technique ?

I can't point you to a single thread or YouTube video and say "there it is."  It comes with experience, reading between the lines, reading charts, reading articles, reading threads... even when they are full of contradictory information, reading, doing, experimenting, testing theories, reading some more, diving in, learning from the mistakes, and then reading more.

It's kind of like asking Michael Jordan "how are you so good at making shots?"

Not that I'm comparing myself to Jordan in any capacity... but his likely answer would be to "keep practicing."

You have to do some independent research to find better profit coins, but they can be crushed at any moment by miners if it becomes discovered.
