How was he "upfront"?  The introduction page did not even state the size of the bounty.

Seriously the miners who wasted their time with this got very lucky.  What if it had been 1,000,000,000 coins ?  or 1,000,000,000,000 coins ?  You get the idea ...

then it'd been ripple Wink

LOL!

pre mining for bounties and givaways, promotion is a good thing.

look at the givaway thread the dev is not hoarding them for himself....and an opporunity for those who slow mine to get in the action.

anyway he was upfront from the start....no problems here.

ALERT ALERT ALERT

From the [SXC] source code main.cpp:

if(nHeight < 3) //premine bounties
   {
      nSubsidy = 1000000 * COIN;
   }

ALERT ALERT ALERT

Phenixcoin did the same thing, it's fine to premine now. At least thats what phenixcoin supporters say...

This is one of the largest premines ever

what a pity...

and what?

Do you know how long it will take YOU to mine 2 mill of any coins?

and how do you suppose they gonna put their fuckin:D coin onto exchange without bounty? Cheesy

You need bounty to pay developers but exchange?  NOT.  If you develop a decent marketable altcoin, the demand will come and when this happen, exchanges will be lining up to add you.  Two million premines are just plain GREED on the developer part.  Look at digitalcoin, DGC.  Zero premine and when was the last altcoin launched where you see the developer buying up his own developed coins for bounty?  None that I know of.  This is why I support DGC because it has the support of the developer.

Developers planning on launching new altcoins should take a good look at DGC.

Of course it's in source code. We use it for lot of bounties and events as well as giving back to miners.

This is one of the largest premines ever.  Those 2,000,000 coins in the float will make it virtually impossible for SXC to have value since

THEY WILL BE DUMPED AS SOON AS IT HITS AN EXCHANGE
