Did anyone watched the women's T20 between Supernovas vs Velocity. Really good match, the two time champion once again confirmed it's third time championship. Favouring Velocity Volvaardt made the best, but they wasn't able to win the match as there is no big support came from the team players. The crowd was chanting we need women's IPL 2023.
I liked the recently concluded Fairbreak Invitational Womens T20 more than this Women's T20 Challenge. The former had 6 teams comprised of players from 35 different countries and there were a total of 19 matches being played. On the other hand, the latter is a sham tournament, consisting of 3 rag-tag teams and just 5 matches. The BCCI should immediately launch WIPL without any further delay. There is no justifications for postponing it further, when even smaller boards such as WICB are going ahead with their plans for women's franchise cricket.

I think it was a good match. A very good amount of runs has been scored in that match. And only four runs split the teams. It was actually a very competitive match and I was actually a little surprised. I think the cricketing Nation deserves women's IPL now.  Smiley

You predicted this right as Pakistan whitewashed the T20 series with Srilanka women's team. The last t20 match was a thriller because Pakistan needed 8 runs of the last over. The match went right down to the wire as Pakistan was required to score 2 runs on the last ball. Bismah Maroof scored that winning 2 runs and was also declared the man of the match.
Tuba Hassan was declared the man of the series. Now we will be discussing the ODI match between the two teams in the ODI cricket thread.
I don't think it will be so difficult for the Pakistan women's team to win the match even though the target is only 108. But we have to wait till the last ball to know which team will win the match. I knew the bowlers in the Pakistan women's team were talented enough, so I thought they would win. Although Pakistan has won, their batsmen need to improve their performance.
I believe the ODI is also not going to be very hard for Pakistan because They have played well in the T20 and they should continue forward with that confidence. Honestly, I am going to be a little surprised if Pakistan actually loses in the ODI. We all know that Pakistan is a quiet newly formed team and this is going to be a very good confidence booster for Pakistan women's team. considering that they will win again of course.

I don't think Pakistan will lose the ODI match. However, I don't think Pakshithan played well in the last T20 match. I don't like Pakistan's gameplay in this match. However, in the ODI format, the Pakistan women's team is much stronger than Sri Lanka. The performance of the Sri Lankan women's team players is not consistent. Especially their bowling is much weaker than Pakistan.

Not taking Riyan Parag's side but his comparison with Virat is bit weird.

Virat opened a inning and sometimes bats at 3, which means he had more balls to face in every match. On the other hand Parag bats at number 6 position and only gets to bat limited amount of balls so it's kinda obvious he's not going to outscore Kohli. Even Dinesh karthik who was in God Mode throughout this season scored less runs than Kohli.

I agree that Parag can't be compared with Kohli. But please tell me why this guy is in the team. What is his contribution to Rajasthan Royals? He can't bat and he can't bowl. And he has dropped more catches than anyone else in the team. What makes him so special that he has appeared in all the 16 matches played by RR so far in this season? On top of that, he has behaved quite arrogantly on the field. Remember his reaction after he took the catch of Stoinis? Matthew Hayden (commentator for that match) came down heavily on Parag then.

This is really a positive development for Pakistan women cricket team, most important thing is that the whole T20 series was available live on TV. Pakistan women finished last in recent WC while Srilanka wasn't there. Such series will help in lifting moral of women cricketers who live in a male dominated cricket environment.

Pakistani women cricket team has improved - but the recent performance to points toward improvement of the batting line and well as the bowling line. But the most important thing is hard work and consistency. It was good seeing them back in form again.

Honestly, the problem that is going on in Sri Lanka is really devastating and this type of performance can be a little expected from the Sri Lankan women's team. I think their performance was below par. But I also have to say that Pakistan played well. I have to give credit where credit is due. It was not a very high score but Pakistan did well. They have already secured a win in the t20 series and I think they will be looking to Whitewash the Sri Lanka women's team. After this, we have the ODI. 3 ODI and I believe Pakistan will also win the ODI series as well.

One thing I don't know about Rajasthan Royals is that they persist with non-performing players without any logic. The perfect example is that of Riyan Parag. No one knows why he is in the team. He has scored a total of 168 runs in 16 matches at an average of 16.80. And he has bowled a total of 4 overs, conceding 59 runs, while taking one wicket (economy rate of 14.75 runs per over). On top of that, he has behaved like a monkey on the field, abusing the opponent players. And yesterday also, he dropped some easy catches.

Well, I believe it is the IPL and there is certainly a little bit of politics going on. Otherwise, I don't see any reason why he should be in the team still after doing quite badly in this IPL.

But, another question is do they have a good enough substitution for this player?

There could be a case made that they don't believe in the other player's ability that they might end up playing instead of Riyan Parag. At this point, I believe it will be better to give any other player chances to play. But, is it going to be worth experimenting at this stage of the competition?

Kohli was in poor form this season, but still he scored a total of 341 runs with an average of 22.73. Riyan Parag on the other hand has played the same number of matches (16) and he has scored less than half as much runs as Kohli. I don't understand the point of keeping him in the team as a specialist batsmen, when Karun Nair is not being given any chances. I heard that Sanju Samson has some issues with Karun and that is the reason why he is not being given any chances. Anyway, as long as they are winning matches, these issues will remain under the radar.

Not the best comparison I have to say, and that is exactly because of the reason you mentioned.
Another obvious reason why most middle-order batsmen cannot score too many runs is that when they come out to bat they generally don't have the time to get settled. They have to swing their bat at almost everything. On the other hand, the top-order batsman certainly has some time to get settled. So, it is really easy to understand why Virat Kohli obviously has a better statistic in this comparison.

That's the beauty of team, if team is performing good then underperforming players are also covered and no one noticed that. RCB kept Kohli despite the fact he was a complete failure because team itself was performing too good. If RR wins the title tomorrow who will remember performance of Parag.

A memorable season for the RCB. Despite playing poor cricket, they reached Eliminator 2. Uncapped players saved the day with life-saving contributions, while the big guns misfired with the bat. Newly acquired players saved the day when their retained players flopped. While the RCB bowling attack is decent this time, there are some issues that need to be addressed. Mohammed Siraj's bowling damages their decent bowling attack a lot in playoffs also Kholi fails to perform. Both were gifts from opposing teams. While Buttler completely humiliated the RCB bowling attack, RR made it to the final.

Kohli is a complete mis fit whether it's Indian national squad or IPL. His performance for last 2 to 3 years is continuously on decline and its high time for BCCI to decide whether they will continue with kohli or give some chance to new talent. RCB overall performance in IPL is satisfactory they were 30 to 40 runs short in there last match and that's what caused them the match.

All retained player are growing old and clumsy. They are still cashing out on their name. I haven't seen them contributing a lot in this season. It's time for that these players should be dropped and new players get more opportunities.

RCB came into action very late of this season and still they managed to played the playoffs due to the contribution of new talents. I was expecting them to win the second qualifier but Josh Butler had other plans. Finals would be intresting to watch.

Along with its bad luck it was the low score that ended up losing against Rajasthan Royals. The team that was able to score 200+ runs against LSG wasn't able to score the required run. Losing the toss, the performance of Jos Butler throughout the ongoing season and the lack of bowling from RCB. Rajasthan won the first season of IPL and probably will collect the trophy this time.
Rajasthan Royals missed some simply catches in the field and i thought it is going to be a lucky day for them but Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy changed the match upside down by picking up wickets in the final overs and restricting the flow of runs and Jos Buttler continues his sublime form and i wish Rajasthan Royals win the tournament in memory of Shane Warne.
