Chennai's supposedly impenetrable fortress keeps getting breached again and again recently. LSG did it first followed by Punjab. CSK got unlucky though thanks to Chahar, Pathirana and Deshpande missing out.

Their shit fielding didn't do them any favours either. Looks like SRH has a better chance of making it to the playoffs now when compared to them.

^^ Watch out for more dead rubber in upcoming fixtures. The main reason would be some teams securing their spot for the play offs, followed by the pitch slowing up and we kind of reached some level of sanity where the 200 target is not the norm anymore.

The only thrill or some would say cheap thrill would be that lower ranking team at the table playing the party popper for a couple of teams.

Match was really exciting which played between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings. Harpreet Singh and Rahul Chahar bowled really well which changed match totally. They did not let CSK score many runs with Harpreet Singh giving away only 17 runs and Rahul Chahar gave 16 runs which you already mentioned. Due to this CSK only made 162 runs. Then Punjab Kings batsmen played well and easily reached the target in 17.5 overs losing only three wickets. Even though CSK bowlers tried hard but Punjab Kings batsmen were too strong. To me, the match between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings was not exciting at all, it felt like a one sided match.When we see a team winning by 10 runs or 20 runs or less and sometimes winning by one wicket or two wickets we can call those matches as highly exciting matches. The trio of Rabada, Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar for the Punjab Kings in yesterday's match completely tied down the Chennai super kings batsmen. Chennai Super Kings could not score many runs mainly due to the outstanding bowling performance of these bowlers. Chennai Super Kings bowlers could not bowl tight like Punjab Kings bowlers but Mustafizur Rahman took the maiden over which was a comfortable over. I found Chennai's bowling line-up in yesterday's match to be in disarray, which may have been one of the reasons for their defeat.

Expected tough luck for CSK when it was announced during toss that Pathirana wasn't going to play, yes Deshpande also didn't play but IMO Pathirana was a bigger blow.

Despite having so much batting depth, CSK played slow which costed them the match.

I would not say that it was unexpected. Chennai bowling was really weak today, with Deshpande, Pathirana and Theekshana missing in the playing XI. Their impact sub (Sameer Rizvi in place of Ajinkya Rahane) also made sure that Chennai Super Kings is well short of bowling options. Mustafizur Rahman was the only CSK bowler who was impressive. Everyone else leaked plenty of runs.
