I heard his name during Ind vs Eng test series but didn't think much of it because I had never seen him bowling and thought he was just another Umran Malik, who only bowls fast like crazy without any discipline.
But damn I was wrong, this kid was bowling hard length with a ridiculous pace and got a good head on his shoulder. Hope, he stays true to his ability and remains fit. You are actually right but the batting performance of Punjab Kings was good in the starting tie but I don't think their current condition is very good they have lost their three wickets in very short span of time which put them under pressure. I thought that in the starting the Punjab Kings team will win this match but now it seems that their chances of winning have decreased a lot.Although they still have enough wickets but I think their chances of winning are reduced a lot, now they can depend on Shikhar Dhawan but as they are currently under pressure I think Shikhar Dhawan's wicket will also fall very soon. If you take a closer look at 3 important partnerships Kohli was part of (with the likes of Green, Maxwell and DK), you would notice that all three outscored Kohli with much better SR. 180 was below par score at that track, KKR's batting already proved this by spanking RCB bowlers.
Had those 3 batters played like Kohli (Anchor role) then RCB's score would have been well short of 165-170-ish.
I am sorry to say this, but Virat Kohli will never get the same sort of respect as someone like Mahendra Singh Dhoni or Sachin Tendulkar. As a player, he is equally talented. But his behavior on and off the field has antagonized a lot of people. So I won't be very surprised in case he gets booed by the crowd.
