I stopped caring about bilateral series (limited overs only, not Test cricket), and now I treat them as cheap thrill similar to IPL. Actually below IPL if I am being honest as most of the bilateral series are useless except if there are some qualification calculations. Also, no one remembers the white ball bilateral series for too long (it's true for every team).

The main focus is the ICC trophy as we have the ICC tournament every year.

And since the World Cup is already an ODI World Cup, poor performance in an ODI match is risky now. However, India's performance in the Test series was good. I don't know what Ireland has gained so far from this tour. Apart from the one match that was washed out by rain and the warmup match against the BCB XI, they have lost all the ODI and T20I matches by big margins (starting with 183 run loss during their first ODI). The winning probability of Bangladesh is high against Ireland which is well known fact. I see Ireland to be a team that had performed well and lost many matches due to the lack of experience playing against the leading teams. Over time we can see the improvement with the team.
