Both team Czech Republic vs Spain, developed themselves a lot and become good oppennt of each other in today's match. Czech Republic won the toss but they opted to fielding. Spain openers were started batting and they were tired to going ahead by taking runs gradually. finally they collected 179-9 runs in 20 Overs where Daniel Doyle (72) did the highest score. Czech Republic bowlers bowl good enough, Shubhranshu , Sazib Bhuiyan, Abul Farhad all of them got 3 wickets each. Afterwards Czech Republic went to batting and everything was going good. Gradually they were very close to cross the targeted runs but unfortunately they failed. Although they did best in last 4 overs but most of the time they just try to hold their wickets instead of making runs. Their low Strike rates make them lose against Spain only for 1 run. I think they may win if they could build up a better strategy from beginning.
This game was very tough for both of them and both teams gave their best effort in game and tried hard to win game but unfortunately, CZK-R lost this game by 1 runs and so close but their Batsman showed less good effort than the batsman of Spain team. Spain team set very competitive target of 179 runs to CZK-R team in 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Called batsman made 72 runs in 41 balls and hitted four 4s and five 6s. CZK-R team also showed full stamina and their Batsman really showed outstanding struggle in batting line and they almost to chase the target and 1 more runs need for win. Bhuiyan Batsman made 36 runs in 25 balls by hitting seven 4s and on bowling side, same player bowled 3 wickets in 4 overs with 35 runs. Congratulations Spain to win this game and their effort was also mind blowing.
High scoring and tight matches like these are always fun to watch. It is good to see this quality of game out of the nations which are not big as a cricket playing nation.
This match was part of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier Group A. Spain had previously beaten Cyprus. But the Czech Republic was beaten by Denmark by a huge margin of 118 runs. So I did not expect the Czech Republic to put up such a fight. Maybe they had a bad day in their match against Denmark. But now that they are beaten twice in a row, their chance of qualifying seems quite low.
While Spain was batting, we could have seen some shots from the beginning. Muhammad Ihsan scored 36 runs from 18 balls with a strike rate of 200. Later Daniel Dyole Calle also scored 72 runs from 41 balls, which is also huge. But I think Spain has to give credit to Yasir Ali who balled 4 overs and conceded only 22 runs with 2 wickets. For me, he is the man of the match. Such economic bowling is very important in these types of t20 matches.
