IPL auction has ended. Here's the summary:-

Most Expensive buys
-------

Cameron Green (MI) - 17.50cr

---------

Nicholas Pooran (LSG) - 16cr

--------

(Conversion rates as follows: USD 1 = INR 82 approx; INR 50 lakh = USD 60,000 approx; INR 1 crore = USD 120,000 approx; INR 10 crore = USD 1,200,000 approx)

Was expecting Curran, Green and Stokes to fetch big amounts which they totally deserved, but I have no idea as to why Pooran was bought for such a huge amount by LSG when he performed like crap in the recent IPL editions.

Another thing that surprised me was Malan going unsold who is regarded as one of the best T-20 specialists of all-time.
Pooran did perform well in LSG tho and played a few impactful knocks for Lucknow so maybe that's why but yeah he's definitely overpriced. Maybe 8-10 crore player at best.

Similarly, Green is also looking overpriced to me but again he performed quite well against India in 2 bilateral matches and a big IPL contract is fixed when you perform against India.

Same thing happened with Newzealand Jamieson, last time he was sold for over 13-15 crore, and this time he fetched barely any bid.

Jaffna won the LPL once more (they have won all the three editions till now). I still don't have a very optimistic overview of the Lanka Premier League (LPL). They are still heavily dependent on the revenues from India. Sri Lanka is a small country of 20 million people, and unlike the case with Pakistan or Bangladesh, they don't have the capability to sustain their own franchise T20 league. And the economic situation in Sri Lanka is not good either.
In addition to these leagues such as LPL, PSL and BPL, why can't the boards come up with a combined league where the top 2 teams from each of the leagues participate? It can be a six-team league, with the top 2 clubs from LPL, 2 from PSL and 2 from BPL. Or it can be further expanded with one team each from Afghanistan and Nepal to make it a 8-team league.
But, good thing happening with the all issues and on and off the field problems they are doing good job and having good league which will give them good results in long run which is positive development for this small country and spirit behind this league is also amazing from the Sri Lankan authorities as they are currently facing the worst time but still having good success which is impressive.
And about you this suggestion I think few years back we already have one league with the name of Champions League, but sadly this was not successful, so they scrap this idea and now no one talking about this all which is good idea because as we already have few troubles regarding Pakistan and Indian relationship, so this could be also not successful so most chances no one will be gone ahead or if we have then most chances Pakistan or India any country will be not in.

Champions League was supposed to be unsuccessful because a tournament that was supposed to be the biggest right after the World Cup was not properly taken care of by the ICC. And secondly, the teams also did not care about the Champions League that much.

Well, correct me if I’m wrong but I believe they did at first but since when the league cricket started getting popularity, Champions League started losing popularity, as far as I know. And I don’t think the cricket fans also care about the Champions League. Even I almost forgot that something like this existed in cricket.

The Sri Lankan cricket board will have to increase the budget for LPL. Otherwise, it is not going to be big. And the Sri Lankan people will have to be more interested in the LPL.

In the 14th Match Hobart Hurricanes vs Melbourne Renegades the game of these two teams has started. Hobart Hurricanes won the toss and decided to bat. Scored 85 runs in 13 overs. And Hobart Hurricanes lost 7 wickets. Melbourne Renegades are bowling very well. David Moody  He took 3 wickets with 16 runs from 4 overs. And Andre Russell took 2 wickets with 14 runs from 2 overs.
I was very surprised with the performance of Renegades in this match, their batting line up fully destroyed by the bowlers of Hobart Hurricanes. Although the Hobart Hurricanes haven't done too well either. Even so, I thought Renegades would win, as they have not lost a match till now  in their last five matches so far and they are also standing in 2nd place of the table. I think this match is one of the bad performance of them
Really entertaining match by these two with Renegades faces first defeat in this season with fail to achieve target like 122 is surely a big setback for them because early their bowlers done amazing stuff and restricted Hobart Hurricanes by this total Akeel Hosein and David Moody were the heroes as both done good stuff with not allowed any Hobart Hurricanes batsmen to play freely but in reply Renegades batting also faltered by Shadab Khan, Riley Meredith and other bowlers those restricted them and win their second match of this season which is really amazing stuff for the Hurricanes.

Now tomorrow we will be having off day in BBL due to 25th December things could be again on their best with Boxing Day matches which could be full of entertainment for the fans around the world.

There are just too many variables for a combined league to happen. Of course, the value of the currency of every country is different. And every cricket board is going to want different things from these tournaments. I don’t think the Bangladesh cricket board is at all interested in finding new players through the BPL. They just want to make some money. PSL was looking like it will improve rapidly. But after the current change of authority in Pakistan Cricket board, I wonder how things are going to turn out for them. And I don’t think these cricket boards make much revenue from these tournaments. And if they want to do something together they will have to give ICC a bigger revenue. But doing something like this is going to be very beneficial for cricket.

Anyone followed the IPL auctions? New records were achieved today, with Sam Curran going for $2.23 million to Punjab Kings. Cam Green fetched a massive amount of $2.11 million, while Ben Stokes was purchased by Chennai Super Kings for $1.96 million. Other major purchases are as follows:

Sam and Stokes got such big amount because they were part of the T20WC winning squad. I am not sure what made MI go after Green for that amount. Last year they paid a huge amount for Ishan Kishan. In my opinion CSK purchase was the best as they got an all rounder. They also have Jadeja who is also an all rounder. Now both of them will play under the captaincy of MSD.

Lanka Premier League ended today quietly atleast for me as i did not follow the series and it was mainly due to FIFA World Cup fever that i missed the entire series but watched the final 5 overs between Colombo Stars and Jaffna Kings and it was interesting as the match went to the last over and Colombo Starts was able to pick wickets at the right moments during the final overs but Jaffna Kings somehow crossed the line and won the tournament for the third time.
That's true fifa has stolen all the limelight in last month, every other tournament, league went un noticed because if that.
Same happened with sirlanka league.
Jaffna Kings win the tournament and Avishka Fernando is declared player of the match for his half century.
Both teams performed equally well .

It was a wonderful match , And towards the end, the match became more exciting. Jaffna Kings won the final match by 2 wicket , Although they seemed to be under a bit of pressure towards the end , But they managed to rise above the pressure and win the match with 4 in hand.  I congratulate them for this achievement.

By winning a match, Brisbane Heat moved to number 4 in the points table. Responsible batting from both Sam Billings and Max Bryant brought Brisbane Heat to a position. Although 166 runs is not reliable. But the top players of Adelaide Strikers had to lose wickets to complete the team's hundred runs. Thomas Kelly and Colin de Grandhomme from that position brought the team very close to victory but could not finish at the end. Even though Adelaide Strikers lost the match but it is the most strongest team from all the aspects in this Big Bash League 2022-23.

13th Match Brisbane Heat vs Adelaide Strikers Brisbane Heat are batting now in this game. They have scored 111 runs in 15 overs. And Brisbane Heat have lost 5 wickets. They still have 5 wickets left in their hand. In this match Brisbane Heat could not score much runs by batting. However.  If they can score some more runs in the remaining 5 overs, it can be very easy for Brisbane Heat to win.
it is 13th domestic t20 match i actually  don’t know about these team. but as a t20 match 166 runs is not a bad target . Brisbane Heat played 20 overs and score 166 runs which is likely a good target . Adelaide Strikers played till 6 overs and score 47 runs but they already lost 4 wickets it seems they can't win this match against Brisbane Heat because they maybe will not be able to play full 20 overs
When the game was played between the two teams at the top and bottom of the points table Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat there was an excitement among everyone that Adelaide Strikers would win this match very easily. But this is the true image of T20 cricket. There is no guarantee. Can beat any big team anytime. Brisbane Heat set a target of 166 runs while Adelaide Strikers managed to score 160 runs. Brisbane Heat got their first win in this Big Bash League 2022-23 by 6 runs.
166 is a good target to chase in a T20 match , wonderful batting by Sam billings 79 runs on 48 balls .Brisbane Heat win their first match in big bash league . Adelaide strikers tried to chase but lost by 6 runs.
Brisbane Heat played really well in this match. Batting first they scored 166 runs which was a good run for them to win. But Adelaide Strikers lost the match by very few runs. But both teams played very well. Brisbane Heat scored 55 runs in last 5 overs.  As they did, they were much ahead in terms of runs.
Although I don't know much about these two teams and I don't know much about their performance, still I predicted that Brisbane Heat might win but Adelaide Strikers on the other hand played very well.  They lost the match by just 6 runs.  Both teams were evenly matched in all aspects but eventually Adelaide Strikers lost by 6 runs .

Brisbane Heat won by 6 runs. But I thought they would win by a bigger margin. Because Adelaide lost 4 wickets in 38 runs. I thought they would lose all the wickets within 100. Adelaide managed to collect 160 runs as a result of responsible batting by Grandhomme, Kelly and Nielsen. But the performance of Brisbane Heat bowlers was very good today. Mark Steketee's performance in particular was superb. He managed to pick up four wickets. Such a great performance is why Brisbane Heat won today.
