If you are investing in cryptocurrencies, you should know that people have forfeited millions of dollars by panic selling. The whole stop loss idea seems fine for other investments, but with the hyper-volatility of cryptocurrencies I don't think the same strategy applies.

Hi all,
I am a relative newbie but have remained pretty calm during the difficult last week or so. The markets are falling significantly again, is this still relatively normal and is the best advice just to HODL? Moving forward I think I will set stop losses on all holdings to protect my capital against falls like this.
Thanks

I have read many times that this is normal, and in my experience, I have seen something like dropping of prices last year. But the current dip is for me alarming, because it was too long, and prices are like struggling to rise. The downs are more often than the  ups, so I'm a bit worried about this.
You should compare the current condition of the market to when bitcoin just falling from $1000 to $200 the market struggling to increase the price for a long time and it's rather stuck there but the price of bitcoin after few months or almost a year waiting rising so fast that it become what it is now.
Even if you see, $6000 is still 3000% above what we have few years ago, so what's wrong?

when the market falls and falls, it makes many people uneasy. but I myself have a pretty good tactic, so I'm not too upset when the market falls. usually when the market falls a lot of confusion with the coins they have, and some are immediately selling their coins. but I do not sell my coins, I keep holding them and selling them when the price is high.

My tactic has been simply buying more! This moment of down will pass and we will be happy to have bought on such great value.

I'm confident in a market recoup.
,,,That's right tactic, actually, we should follow the time element, because the best time to buy and to hold is when the price is in a low value. It's worth to hold and buy low at this moment and sell it when the price will be rising again, instead of panic selling at the lowest price. It makes no sense.

It depends on the coins you are trading. If is a coin that is stable and as a results of few market uncertainty, price keep falling. Continuing holding it and it will bounce back. But if it is a coin every one is dumping, then you also lay it off.

I have tactics before the price drops I can sell the coins and when the price starts falling I can buy the coins at the cheap price and hold the coins until the price returns high. so that's the only tactic that I live and will definitely get maximum results.

Buying coins while market is falling is somehow effective when holding that coins for longer terms. In general ideas about trading investments it's good to buy at lower price then sell at higher value. So in order to gain good profit you must know when to do it and you should learn how to control yourself.

Much had been said, there are some good strategy when the market is falling. First buy more at a cheaper price, but it depends on how deep is your pocket to sustain the market and sell again when price is up. Second is to hold, and wait for the right target price for the reasonable profit but it depends on your patience on how long can you wait.

if we just start investing I think it's time to buy coins and invest a lot in it because the price is down so we can get a lot of coins with the same amount of money and we can hold it a few months ahead until the price goes up to earn a big profit

You can use the following tactics when the market is falling
- you can sell all your bitcoins and altcoins to USDT when the market is falling and have at least 1 bitcoin when you convert it to btc.
- Hold until when you know of certain the market is about to bounce back: then you buy btc.
- when you know btc is dropping again: then you sell your btc back to USDT.
You continue to this vise versa and you discover you are almost earning $1000 or even more

Usually, newbies make a lot of typical mistakes during the training. As soon as the market turns red the newbies immediately rush to sell their assets, They get big losses and lose their profits. When the child Becomes red, the only thing you can do is stay calm.

Buying the dip can generate compelling returns. However, in practice, pulling this off effectively may be easier said than done.

One way to weather a crash in digital currencies is to Hold On For Dear Life, a strategy that many in the industry refer to simply as HODL.

Some traders suggest flocking to fiat currencies when crypto markets crash.

If done correctly, traders can generate very robust returns by shorting Bitcoin, an opportunity offered by many exchanges. This approach is very risky.
In my opinion, this is the best way out of a difficult situation.  Smiley
Seriously, this is a really good way to protect your investments, because we know from the history of crypto currencies that prices always returned to their original values or even increased. So we just need to wait.

Remember you can play both sides of a move. When the market is falling, you can bet on that by shorting. There are ways to make money in all market conditions.

In this situation, you need to take as few impulsive decisions as possible. Best of all, if you feel that the market has started to sit heavily, fix everything in fiat, it is also worth refraining from investing in any ICO and all that remains is to follow the news and schedules. You can look at interesting projects and coins, so that when the market goes up, we could invest in them.

Some attempts to take a risky step as short circuit of their bitcoins. We can see that when marketcap fluctuates, it just becomes less and less even if he goes up because many of these whales to use him with the help a swing trades.

The main tactic is to move away from the current price, and try to think in a year or two ahead. Then you can determine for itself the position for a long period of investment.
