In life, not everyone is given problems like you, and is able to solve problems like you and vice versa, you are not necessarily able to face the problems experienced by others. Enjoy every complicated process (no matter how bad the country's economy is, only you are able to create or change your economy for the better).

Successful people in terms of economy are born because they work hard, are disciplined, and consistent. Don't get hung up on external problems in this case relying on the government, but focus on improving your own skills. Although it is undeniable that the government will also influence our economy to some extent with the policies it makes. So taking over control of the economy is something we must do, those who are privileged or spoiled will not be able to overtake those who work harder, are more persistent, and do not give up easily in doing something.

I am saying that a person can look into starting a rehabilitation center that caters for the most common types of addiction. These are addictions are going to become a public health concern very soon because the burden of it will be so great that even our health care facilities will be unable to manage them. In the past, we barely hear about kidney failures in young people but now, a person of 31 will be diagnosed with kidney failure and will be soliciting for funds for a new kidney or dialysis.

This is how it usually works in a poor country where there is no equal opportunity. Butt a poor man only needs a simple opportunity to learn a bit of what wealthy men do to make money and with a bit of courage he can do just whatever wealthy men do and maybe even better as long as there is motivation.

With inspiration that motivates the person, they will work all the way up from the bottom just like the Pursuit of Happyness.

This is a problem that must be faced in general and it must be like that. Although all of that is still the responsibility of the government, we should not expect too much from government assistance that is sometimes not on target and the best thing is to develop or create skills that can be relied on to make money or as additional income so that our economy and needs are still met.

And it is indeed not as easy as it is said, but having an independent nature and being willing to try and work hard is a very good thing and also shows a responsible soul because we love our families very much and do not want our families to suffer which makes us continue to try to make them happy and continue to provide for them in a good way without having to depend on anyone and complain because it will not be able to change the situation.

I don’t think everybody has the same opportunity. Wealth is generational. If you have dirt poor parents, you’ll probably die poor also. I say “probably” because some people win against all the odds but the majority ain’t that lucky or smart.

If you have rich parents, those parents probably have a solid network of friends also and just like that you are 5 steps or 10 steps ahead of every other poor soul.

While the other guys trying to figure out how to start a business (and most of them will prefer to be wage-slaves no matter what happens), you’ll learn the business basics in your parents’ company.

It sounds simple but is it really as easy as you think? If it is that simple then do you have any solutions for people in Africa or the Middle East? Areas without even electricity or internet, areas where people lack education...people who are having a very difficult life because of the greed and stupidity of the government. What do they need to do to be able to look beyond the government, and escape the grip of the government and not need the government to provide jobs but still have jobs and income?

Honestly, I have yet to see a country where people can become rich or have a good life without government intervention. I am not defending the government but clearly we cannot deny their role and impact on our economy as well as the national economy.

everyone cannot be uploading videos on the internet, and it is not everyone that has the ability of surviving in the digital space. we know that the digital world is very waste and allows everyone that is capable of earning through it to earn, but we are still dealing with the greater population of people that are in the poor region of the world lacking access to the internet and even smart phones and a lot of them affected by the digital divide that is a serious concern for some part of the world. what do you expect of them if they are of the region that is still struggling economically.

self-development is good and certainly helps one overcome some of the general problem a lot of people are facing but still, we have to always consider that not everyone has that capacity to develop himself enough to help him overcome the bad economy that they are facing. some are even struggling to the point that they are eating from hand to the mouth. how do you expect them to upskill in that condition when they cannot even boost of three-square meal?

the government ought to be responsible enough to take care of the economy and not wait for the citizen to become helpless to the point of solving all their problems by themselves even when from the resource the region possesses, the citizens ought to be leaving above an average lifestyle.

Since people are addicted to their phones, alcohol, drugs and game are you saying we should produce more alcohol and hard drugs?. If it is for gaming that sounds good and will require lots of creative thinking to develop a game someone will wants to play. But I sincerely wish our young minds will go back to the days where patience to learn and develop a good skill was of topmost priority but that's not the case today because there is a template for virtually everything now.

I mean the only skill required in our modern world is the skill to understand how to edit and modify a template to suit the need of the final consumer which has killed yue spirit of creativity and has promoted laziness to its highest magnitude

What if all the skills you can learn and your country don't give a damn that you have to look for opportunities in other countries and they give some damn and you go there, work for them, and solve their problems? That's how developed countries are still developed and being more progressive while the developing countries are still finding ways to look more poor. I don't blame anyone here like the government or citizens.

Although I do agree with you that by providing our skills to them we can at least make money and that is all we need to make a good living in our country but that way our country's economy is not going to improve.

I agree with your thinking, the national economy depends on the government and our lives also depend largely on the government. If we are unfortunate enough to live in a country with a dictatorial, corrupt government...we will also find it difficult to avoid a life of poverty no matter how highly educated or qualified we are.

Some people are getting jobs and income from online, they think they are good enough and don't need government but they don't know that not everyone has the same opportunity as them. Or not everyone is suited for online work. Not to mention, they don't come from countries with double digit inflation or worse countries at war, they will see the importance of government to our economy.


I wonder if these people ever wonder what they would do if their current online job disappeared? I guess many people are not prepared and ready for that. If that happens, they will turn around and criticize the government and will realize how important the government is to their economy and country.

Let me paint a picture for you.

A girl lives in a developing country with bad economy. After graduation from the university she couldn't land a job because the few ones available have been taken up by people who have highly connected uncles or aunties. So, she learnt how to make dress and initially it was as if everything was working fine for her, because she could feed herself and pay her bills. After sometime her business begins to crumble, the government new policies has taken the cost of living to a very high side. To cope with reality, companies begin to fold or downsize their workforce and this further increase the rate of unemployment. Now, she has little or no customers to patronize her business because people prefer to use the little money they've to put food on their table rather than make a fine dress.

So let me ask you, has the skill increase the quality of her life?

There's nothing wrong in getting a skill but when your economy is bad, it is bad and even with your skill, you may still find it difficult to get a quality life.

There is always a need. In our environment there is always a need. Our task is to find the need and fill it. It is like selling shovels during the gold rush. It takes many years to build a skill and our world has become very materialistic now that nobody wants the long haul, we want it immediately. Look at your environment, there are more people addicted to drugs, alcohol, gambling , mobile devices than there used to be, you can take advantage of this and look for a solution that will be beneficial to them and in turn to you economically.

People who have certain skills and those skills can be very much needed by many other people around them are clearly very good because this can certainly lead them to control their economy better in their own lives. And it would be even better if with certain skills it could lead them to create jobs for many other people so that their skills are not only useful to themselves but can also be felt by others without having to interfere with the government in it. But we must also realize that not everyone can have more useful skills like that in life because it is also influenced by the level of education and knowledge possessed by each person.

In today era you only need to access the internet and upload unique videos where you have skills that others don't have. This method applies in all countries to earn income. I mean control over this economy is not always about hard work but smart work that is able to adapt to technological advances. Any type of skill can be marketed as long as it is in the right market. The more unique you are, the more you can survive in economic control, especially profits but with the note that you have the courage to exist in front of many people.

Everyone has the same opportunity to take their personal economy into their hands by way of developing themselves in one area that will make put them ahead of others going into life , I think this is the difference between two people in life one has seen the reason to make concrete efforts to improve and develop himself which he will enjoy later.

So wether the government in where  you find your self is doing their work by creating the right environment for citizens to thrive and develop themselves or not citizens should look beyond government and make steps on how they can break out of the holds of the environmental factors that influence them

It is common to hear motivational speakers come up with these words to encourage people to take steps towards achieving success. But most times it is easier said than done. There are people who are living in terrible conditions and have little or no opportunity to control their future. People in war zones are just focusing on how to survive and nothing more. There are places in my country that have little opportunity for inhabitants to survive. The only means to succeed in those places is to move out of the place.

Anyway there is sense in what OP said. I usually tell young people around me that they should try as much as possible to maximize any opportunity to find in the environment. They shouldn't be discouraged by the failure of government but they should seek diverse legal means to shape their future. Instead of relying on the government to provide jobs starting a business or developing relevant skills will help. These days college certificates are no longer the only criteria to get a job, most organization needs practical skills.

I would love to see that happen too, but at the end of the day, we still depend on what the government can provide. If the government is corrupt or incompetent, the opportunities available to us will be limited because the budget meant for progress is being misused by officials.

Everything you mentioned can only become a reality if we choose the right leaders, the ones who are honest and dedicated to prioritizing the interests of the people above all else. Without that, real progress will always be out of reach.

It's through that environment that one finds him or her self matters a lot and has a great role to play in the development and even how far that person can go in life.
Different countries has different rate of development which translate directly to the quality of life that the citizens will live but am of the view that no matter how worst the country that you finds yourself you can actually take control over your economic situation .
 This will be possible through acquiring a marketable skill that will be useful to you and your immediate environment which you will use in solving problems and preferring solutions.
