That's sure that Bitcoin will revolutionise our lives. I think it will be near as important as the Internet was.

Yes exactly the bottom line is nowadays people are looking for something like Bitcoin because they want to have control over their money and don't trust banks

I am agree witht his idea, i think that Bitcoin will not die in our lifetime simply because it's already growing up daily and its price still increasing and will become stabe soon, so we expect and predict that this powerful crypto currency will survive for long periods

Time has changed, folks! There are a lot of countries discussing the use of Bitcoin and now even mainstream scientists say, that Bitcoin is more transparent than cash and it will revolutionize not only the financial market, but also contracts, real estate, authority right etc etc. They even admit to not understand the Bitcoin code completely, but they are working on it.
Soon they will understand, that any alternate blockchain, will not provide the same security as the one from the "original" Bitcoin network and then we will all get rid of cash.

Thank y'all for support

What's for sure is that lots of important people and big companies are seriously considering the application of the blockchain.

For bitcoin... Well I'm not as sure as you are. It's really difficult to have so much faith in bitcoin simply because it goes so much against the banks that I'm not sure they will let it grow this way.

But maybe I'm wrong, and maybe I overestimate the banks power, cause even if you're against btc, it's not easy to fight it Grin

I suspect you're right, but one never knows about unforseen events, does one?  And what I mean by that is that something could come along and blow bitcoin out of the water, or we could lose the need for it entirely, e.g., Armageddon.  A lot of things could happen.  But barring all that crap, yes I agree, bitcoin probably won't die within our lifetimes.  As long as there's gamblers and dark markets bitcoin will thrive.

It is possible that Bitcoin will die just look at what happened to e-gold, I remember having an e-gold account and then they suspended use of e-gold. I think that's the reason why Bitcoin was born.

Bitcoin is not an "account" and it cannot be suspended , It's decentralized and it's not controlled by people. If you ask me the only thing that may kill bitcoin is the shitty exchanges and their "we got hacked" scenarios ,  unless people decide to wake up and stop using them .

As dencentralized exchanges rise, virtual currencies become more un-stopable...

these are just the rumors that bitcoin will die, a large scale of industries are now running on bitcoin at online. Their use is a big support to it. Plus there are a large number of people who support to make it international digital currency, not only the capitalist but socialist are also attractive to it.

LOL, Socialists? They'd rather premine all blocks and the "evenly" distribute coins among people Cheesy

It would just be extremely difficult to completely stop Bitcoin from being used.
I mean, countries can try to ban it but it's all to no avail.

It can't die. We still haven't mined all of it. I think that's the first condition for the death of bitcoin.

Agreed. That what I always say to my fellow friends and still saying it. They see just the negative feedback and the media that says it will go down or be deleted in my life in a blink. I just replied "Okay" Tongue

Even if your friend has read about bitcoins being bad in news articles, you can make him/her check the price charts and ways of earning bitcoins. Also, there is no media article that states that bitcoins are illegal and hence till there is no such news, your friend can use bitcoins without any fear. Even I had the same issues with bitcoins but when I started trading, my fear just vanished.

What is everyone's definition of die? Sure, it'll always be humming away in a few basements belonging to true believers but it could easily be forgotten by everyone else.

I'm with you on this one!
In 50 years time Bitcoin will still be here.
And all of our applications will run over blockchains!

Indeed there is quite a big of hope when more and more mainstream media and governments begin to consider Bitcoin as more than an experiment run by some nerds. It is quite probable that it ends up being as you say, and I hope for it.

so, we are the first "Bitcoin Generation" ? Grin

yes this is exciting to be in Bitcoin in the early stages.  I also agree that it will not die in our lifetime, we will see it grow and become part of our everyday lives.

It will stay, yes, but after a couple of years I think it would somehow be regulated in most parts of the world which will force bitcoin users to transact in the "undergrounds". No one can really stop a decentralized system, unless the system itself (or the users of the system, rather) chooses to halt operation.

A while ago I posted an idea of using blockchain and it's "public account book" as a way to manage state or city expenses and taxes so every citizen can have access to the funds the current government has assigned. However, there are many good ideas like this, but what we read everyday is mostly bad press on top of bad press for Bitcoin. Lately for example is "Europe" trying to end privacy on Bitcoin due to illegal activities and terrorism.

I once thought the future was bright but I've realized that Bitcoin image is just too much tainted for its own good. The common person does not have a neutral position on Bitcoin (if they remotely know something about it). It's a bad one, something illegal that hackers use or nonsense like that. I guarantee it.
