The office decided to accept the cryptocurrencies in an effort to streamline fee collection, reduce the potential for fraud and identity theft and increase the transparency and accuracy of payments. Greenberg's office added that it does not perceive any "price volatility or risk to the County" in accepting the cryptocurrencies.

This is evidence that people have more trust to bitcoin more than before. it only a matter of time before bitcoin become used widely to become currency.

It won't protect investors or you should tax payers?

What will happen is upon paying the tax is they will include also their info on who's the one paying for his taxes right? This is an additional convenience for someone that doesn't want to go out there and drive miles away just to pay for his tax. The receiving office for bitcoin paid taxes will convert it to USD so there's no problem for them.

I have also read this article and seriously this is very good news that the use of bitcoin for transactions purposes has been started and the best part is that not only people but the government of Florida is also taking part in bitcoin payment, they has made collaboration with bitcoin payment and has encouraged people for using bitcoin as a mode of payment of their taxes , I think this is very great initiative taken by the Florida government and other countries should also inspires from this decision.
