Every day our planet becomes more and more polluted by human activity. And what if the advanced blockchein technology is focused on pollution control. All governments and international financial institutions that are willing to accept cryptocurrency will tax all cryptoexchanges, ICO projects, and other areas that use cryptography. These taxes are used with blockhein in projects to clean and protect the environment. Share ideas. How can this be done?
I think that governments and financial institutions can try to tax everything which is in touch with cryptocurrencies, but I think that they can not control everything inside crypto ecosystem because of cryptocurrencies true nature which is unstoppable. How they gonna tax my BTC transaction if they do not know who is behind it.
Look whats happening in France about fuel taxes, something similar will happen when cryptocurrencies adoption comes to life and if they want to raise taxes above moderate heights.

That's inevitable. I say that because in every growing industry or market alike, government entities would try to capitalize on it by either imposing taxes on it to add revenue, if not, try to control it in some way whether indirect or direct in order to have some leverage or advantage to it for future use. Although the cryptocurrency market is an up and down market, it can still yield good capital and profit if you see the bigger picture. Therefore, by imposing taxes, a government gets to control how the market goes in their localities.

But you can't assure that the government will use the funds collected from crypto taxes in addressing the pollution issues. They might use it in some other major problems that they think need immediate attention. And you are hoping that the government will not be corrupt on its own.

Its depend on government to allocate the budget. We know that President Trump withdraw deal for climate ro reducing pollution and using clean energy. Taxes that collected by government can used for clean energy and combat pollution but policy from head of state more influence

Controlling Pollution
In December 1997, 160 nations meeting in Kyoto, Japan agreed to cut back emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. While ratified by only a very small number of countries so far, the "Kyoto Protocol" calls for industrial countries to reduce their average emissions during 2008-12 to about 5 percent below 1990 levels. Some countries pledged to go further: the European Union set an 8 percent target, while the Unites States and Japan agreed to cut emissions by 7 and 6 percent, respectively. The Protocol allows some industrial countries to modestly increase their emissions in the near term, while special terms apply to members of the former Soviet Union. Since developing countries face potential technical and economic constraints, the Protocol does not oblige them to cut back their emissions.

Because the proposed targets are likely to impose large costs on the global economy, the Kyoto agreement sets the stage for long and complex discussions at the national and international levels. A key issue is how these costs will be shared among countries. While recent public opinion polls show greater concern about climate change and some willingness to share burdens to curb greenhouse gas emissions, recent events in energy markets provide evidence that the public is unwilling to accept significant hikes in energy prices or other costs. If countries prove unwilling to ratify the Kyoto Protocol in its present form, however, the discussions will undoubtedly continue.

For me personally, the realization of your thoughts seems to be on the verge of science fiction and something unreal. I doubt that many countries will want to develop legal norms to collect taxes from the use of crypto-currencies in order to improve the ecology of the environment.
Governments are surely going to try to tax cryptocurrencies, that is something that we are already seeing but what do they plan to do with that money is entirely something else, governments are always fighting any way in which the citizens could have some control over them and the taxes they could collect from cryptocurrencies are not going to be an exception.

Its depend on government regulation. I am agree that government can collect taxes from cryptocurrency market because it will make investor more calm. Its very good if that taxes used for development alternative energy
there are a few steps before that happens in my country. at present government has not provided a legalization of cryptocurrency, so there is no tax assessment that can be collected. but if that happens, I really support it

You raised a valid point. But when you talk about cryptocurrency taxing, there are factors to consider such as : the feasibility of the suggestion.
We all know cryptocurrency has a decentralized structure and no known organized regulatory body.....how will the tax be implemented then?

still, taxes in all fields actually do not provide any solution in the long term, it only lasts within 1-5 years, then problems will continue to emerge, such as the current economy. In crypto it should be completely free of taxes or fees because that is the reason for the blockchain

The government and it institutions that are scheduled with the responsibility of taking care of the environment are not doing the work effectively and that is why pollution in high in our environment and this is as a result of humans activities. Because cryptocurrency is a global currency which tax revenue is to be used to pursue global program and not to be use by one country alone cause is crypto is taxed and use for environmental cleansing is will benefit only the country of host alone.

It's not really up to the crypto industry, or exchanges to enforce this though.

Most regulated crypto businesses already do pay tax, whether it is income tax, or corporate tax. But combating certain problems in the economy or the environment isn't as simple as paying taxes. Who is actually going to take the money, and spend it responsibly?

That's where the government's role come in, and unfortunately, there is absolutely no guarantee that taxes collected by the crypto industry is going to combating pollution, building new schools, or whatnot, especially in third world, corrupt countries. That's just the reality, unfortunately.

Any taxes that governments are able to get out of this market are going to be spent in whatever they want, I do not know how it works in your country but in the country in which I live we not get to choose how the government spends the taxes that they get out of you, it is an interesting proposal to use the taxes that they could get out of cryptocurrencies to help the planet but most likely that is not going to happen.

You can only tax everything to a certain extent before people go out and literally start revolting.
Look at France for God's sake. It's already the country with the highest tax pressure in Europe and now they're taxing gasoline even more.

Want people to opt for more environmentally friendly solutions? Maybe start by giving tax-breaks for those purchases, instead of overly taxing the polluting alternatives.

This has nothing to do with blockchain whatsoever, you've just been drinking the ICO kool-aid.

There are already pretty big tax reductions on a lot of renewable energy. For example the Solar Tax Credit that allows people to deduct 30% of the cost of installing solar energy from their tax liability. The problem is that renewable energy is just still not close to comparing to non-environmentally friendly solutions in terms of cost efficiency and that's what people care about. Is it for the government to solve or is it for the private sector to make better renewable/clean energy solutions?

Not "will", you are talking about something you think should be done however the topic name has WILL in it which means there was some sort of news that talk about how a government made a decision on making pollution stop with the money funded from the taxes of crypto industry.

This is more like "taxes SHOULD be used" not WILL go to. I don't understand why people make these kind of false claims, yeah you get the click and we are all here trying to understand which country really wants to stop pollution and use crypto money as funding but here we are with no link in sight and no news that shows which country does that.

I feel like USA could be one of the first ones to do that, use crypto taxes for something crypto related so you give back to the community.

Don't get me wrong but I don't know if you're trolling or what. Why pollution control? Is this a priority? I mean there's a lot of things like food and water and every basic need that people need in order to survived, so I guess government should focus on this one. I don't think that this idea can come to fruition each country has its own problem and I'm sure that others won't agree taxes they got from exchanges or even crypto traders to deal with pollution.

Every day our planet becomes more and more polluted by human activity.

You mean greedy people, right? because if you do statistic you will realize that the biggest pollutants are companies whose owners of these companies are political or have the politicians in their payroll.

this is pollution in very poor countries:

and this is pollution in the very rich countries:

the trash can be easily removed, it depends only on the people, but in the case of the rich countries, the history is very different. if rich countries want combat pollution, will be very high costs, because many of these industries their owners are politicians or people with great influences in politics and as you may already know, in one country there are several political parties and each political party has its own objectives

All governments and international financial institutions that are willing to accept cryptocurrency will tax all cryptoexchanges, ICO projects, and other areas that use cryptography.

and do you really think they will take this money to solve environmental pollution? we have to be clear: the problem is not lack of money, the problem is unwillingness to solve the problem and this is due to the fault of the politicians who live in constant competition.

These taxes are used with blockhein in projects to clean and protect the environment.

the politicians are going to take this tax to party, buy luxury aircrafts and pay some corrupt and damn African politician

How can this be done?

the solution is very simple: stop voting for corrupt politicians

I can tell OP is idealistic and wants blockchain technology to solve a real and serious problem....but environmental protection won't be accomplished by a tax on crypto.  Governments already have the power to alleviate the problem through legislation and law enforcement--it isn't a lack of funds that's keeping the world from being polluted, and governments could tax people all they want, but it just isn't going to help anything.

This is "ICO thinking" in my opinion, that is, trying to crowbar bitcoin/blockchain tech into problems that need solving but where crypto won't help to solve the problem at all.  If there really is a problem that anything crypto-related can solve, it'll be adopted pretty quickly.  I haven't really seen that happen yet.
