What is Thai Nguyen Tea ?
Thai Nguyen Tea is a specialty green tea of Thai Nguyen, a midland province in Northern Vietnam.
Green tea is one of the 6 basic types of tea made from tea tree. Green tea alone is not fermented; so this tea holds almost all the chemical components of the fresh tea leaves.
In Vietnam, specialties are often associated with place names. And Thai Nguyen is most famous for its delicious tea.
So the name Tea Thai Nguyen became popular for this reason. And folklore also says "Thai tea, Tuyen girl" is so.

Thai Nguyen tea region history In Vietnam, there are not many records on the development of our tea culture.
But according to Van Minh Tra Viet written by Trinh Quang Dung; the king Hung's wife is the one who teaches people how to tame wild tea trees to grow in their home gardens.

His family has a tradition of carpentry, so when he was young, Mr. Hiet followed the family's trade.
The work was going well when World War I broke out in 1914.
French colonialists were still colonizing our country at this time; so they called on all men to join the army to join the Le Duong army along with the soldiers from the countries that the French colonized.

With permission from local government; Mr. Hiet brought back tea trees to plant in the low hills of Xinjiang.
Tea tree suits the soil so it grows very well.
At the same time the finished tea is also very high quality. In addition to self-cultivation and production, Mr. Hiet also shared seedlings as well as his tea making method to the local people.
Therefore, tea has gradually become the main source of income for local people; and Mr. Hiet was elected to be the first member of the commune.
Mr. Hiet is also the leader in improving Xinjiang tea by taking the brand as Tea Con Hac.
Change tea production process to semi-industrial scale; and open tea shops throughout North Central South.
In 1935, his tea won the first prize in a competition at a crafty house in Hanoi, so his name and Tan Cuong tea became even more famous.

The chemical composition of Thai Nguyen Tea
