Are you sure Matic replaced Dogecoin? I just checked their position in CoinGecko, Matic is in 16th place and Dogecoin is in 11th place. So, it means Dogecoin is still better in terms of market caps. Or do you mean that the current 24 hours transaction volumes of Matic are better than Dogecoin?

However if your plan is long run then you should check thus coins that has good history especially on the previous bull run because for sure they're still very optimistic such top coins and popular projects. Dont look for new gems because it's quite skeptical unless if you jump in to some legitimate NFT's or metaverse because on that way you can assure there's always a good return as they're very common and popular as well.
